So with something special from Aero incoming, and limited space in the wardrobe I've decided to move on my Pike Brother B-15a. Although not as exact repro- as say they Eastman version, it's a great jacket that's largely very faithful. It features the offset zip, the oxygen tabs, the radio lead...
I wish they were available in the UK, I'd get them for beaters if nothing else. Know a few people, both stateside and over here who really like them for what they are?
One of my favourite pieces and in mint/ looking as new condition! Unfourtanely I'd just agreed to buy something with Aero last month so I couldn't run to this as well. I hope it fits well and you get plenty of fun out of it!
If it were me I would go for the Buzz or Mash shirt's which are much more authentic to what was actually worn. Anything McQueen wore in a military film would of had McQueen's own spin and tastes applied to it. I'm sure the Eastman/ John Lofgren is a fine shirt, produced to the highest quality...
Thanks a lot guys... you lot have had my latest obsession become getting a WW2/ 40s Peacoat...
Found a few good examples in Brighton (UK) today, which were on half price sale. Of course even the biggest was too small. Tried some 50s/60s. 42" Chest was too big with a USN Sweater and a CPO shirt...
Always felt DNA's pictures didn't represent there products as well as they could. Have seen a bit of there work in person and it actually looks a lot better?
So I've been looking for a new pair of Flannels. My old vintage pair have worn out recently, I also used have a lovely mid/ late 60s but I sold them on since they were too slim for my tastes for the last few years.
I'm looking for something of decent rise, possibly flat fronted or possibly...
Thanks Edward.
Paul's ones were 2017 versions, but I just found the neck too tight, didn't appear to be any give. And it was my correct neck size in the xl, being 16.5 in theory. Which was a shame since I would of loved to have got it!
Did try the '33 Jacket on, which is a gorgeous piece of...
Tried a both the Longsleeve Polo and the Work Shirt at SJC stockist Crazy Man Crazy (Forest Hill, London). Quality of both was great. However I found the neck on the XL long sleeve polo a lot tighter than the 16.5 its described on the website and the cuffs on the 1930s work shirt to be very...
Anyone got any advice on where to source a good repro M1938? Ideally US/ European/ Japanese made. Real McCoys make the perfect one, but I'll never be able to afford it.
This is one of the best listings I've seen in classifieds!! So much detail, its great.
I'm gutted I missed out, any problems with the sale, if it doesn't work out for the buyer please let me know since this is the perfect size for me!
So I did end up getting a pair of Ozone in the end.
I really don't think you'll get a better pair of reproduction trousers for under a ton. Yes there's plenty available between the 100 to 200 mark, but for those on a budget, unless you strike lucky at vintage I can't find a better option for...
I'm surprised Aero would even put such a lining into a slim fitting jacket. My Alpaca lined jackets are fine with other wool of reasonable thickness in there, i.e. a heavy shirt or a sweater. I would never want it without something to take the spikeiness of the lining away though.
Surprised to find this seems to have never been discussed on here. Made by Chris Hardy and Lloyd Johnson (he of La Rocka, Johnson and Johnsons, Outfitter to The Clash, Original Early 60s mod, model plane enthusiast), these are wonderfully authentic 1950s style Sack Jackets.
Available with a...
