    What's For Breakfast...

Oh, catching a cold has its advantages. It kills the appetite, so it's great for weight-loss. I've dropped about two pounds already. And I only caught it on Thursday night.

    What's For Breakfast...

I'm recovering from a cold. So I have very little appetite. But I still managed to stomach fried eggs, buttered toast, salt and pepper.

A New Forum - I hope this is alright...

I hope it's alright to post this here. If it isn't, the mods are welcome to just lock it. Some years ago, I was a member of a very friendly and close-knit discussion-board about "that Master Detective...Sherlock Holmes!" as they say in the old radio-programs. Sadly, our community was...

    Show us your vintage home!

I'm getting horrible flashbacks of how my father and I tried to manipulate a sofa-bed through the house, from one bedroom to another, a few years ago. I don't know how the hell we did it, but I don't intend to ever do it again!

    Happy New Years! WEEE!

The Lounge was packed with well-wishers and revelers. Men dressed in Black Tie or their Sunday Best. Women wearing whatever made them look the most dazzling on such a special occasion. At the back, the bar serves champagne. The stage at the far end of the room is occupied by the Fedora Lounge...

What do you use to shave?

The razor is from Sheffield, yes. I have no information about the Scuttle. It's not marked. Sad to say, it replaces another scuttle, which I regrettably broke.

Today's shave... Windsor soap, Windsor badger-brush, vintage scuttle, and a J. Rodgers & Sons "Dinkie" razor.

What did you get for Christmas?

Whether or not it is has very little to do with the people I mix with. Since no thought tends to go into it, either. The end result being that we generally end up with stuff that we can't use, don't want, and feel awkward accepting. As a result, we simply don't do it. What others give us is...

    What is this?

Phebus: Be careful when you put it on. I had one of my bars come off unexpectedly, once. I nearly lost it as a result. Sorry Anthony, I didn't notice your posting there... Yeah that was my concern. Some spreads are so wide that it's surely not feasible. But if the spreads are fairly...

    Show us your TIES

I very rarely see ties in this thread that I could even remotely love, so it's certainly not me! If those were regular bowties, though, I could see myself wearing one or two of them. I like wearing a proper bowtie. There's a strong sense of satisfaction in being able to tie it yourself.

What did you get for Christmas?

We don't really do the whole "Christmas" thing in our family. We regard it more as a kiddie sorta thing. That being the case, I bought my own gifts this year. It's our own little philosophy. Based upon years of receiving useless and unwanted gifts, to begin with. The new Panama hat (see...
