i don't think those heavy knitted scarves are for 'evening' but rather for everyday / sports use. i have a very similar one and wear it a lot on cool summer days:
definitely a man's scarf.... they were often worn by thugs in the 20s-40s in that roughneck-dandy way that street types often...
measurements:
waist: 16.5" (maximum measurement, uncinched)
inseam: 28"
outseam: 39.5"
front rise: 12.75"
back rise: 19.5"
ankle width: 9"
there is a touch of sun / storage fade midway down one leg, and a touch down the rear press marks which is barely photographable.
here's the leg bit...
i'm selling these German 1920s-30s work trousers which i bought from Fastuni last year, as the fit doesn't quite work for me unfortunately.
they're a 32 - 33" waist.
i'll post exact measurements later today.
Pappz, i'm happy to hear that. the more people say "i can wear heavy wool in summer" the more we can dispel the myth that men like soft, lightweight wool fabrics. ;)
what weight are the trousers in question ?
those look good Claudio.
i see the cream flannel as a trouser for cool, breezy spring & summer days (which we get a lot of in the UK). when the weather gets hot and humid i ditch the wool altogether.
there were plenty of worsteds in various fancy stripes or subtle weaves around in the 20s, as well as tweeds, serge, cord, cotton duck... the list goes on.
probably better to avoid any fabric that looks like it could have belonged to a suit though, if you're after an odd / contrasting trouser.
