Another nice example of a 1930/40's double breasted suit being altered during the 1950's or early 60's. The collar and lapels, the square pocket flaps reveal that it once was a double breasted jacket. Also the wide legs have been narrowed to 50's taste.

    Nazi V2 archival documents found

The "sad readers" was not directed personally at you. Sorry for writing it that harshly. Non-German speakers of course are at a disadvantage. The sad part indeed is that the "daily mail" is (again) resorting to lies and sensationalist fantasy to mislead readers.

Romanian Fashions in the mid-20th Century

Yes! I guess that the man was a member of the German minority (mostly in Transsylvania). In Eastern Europe Alpine-style clothing was often (of course not exclusively) worn by Germans. I try to figure out the short jacket on the last photograph worn with Breeches. It is made of a soft, fluffy...

An Austrian website dates it to 1933, which seems correct. There are some more photos of him at that occasion, but they are all portraits. Some more Schrödinger... another archetype of the intellectual/scientist with scruffy hair, round spectacles, tweed and bowtie. 1943 Probably also...

1952 Fleck Tweed Suit "ClipperCraft" Sz. 40

The hem is 25.5 cm. The waist can be let out by a mere 3 cm. I still await a response by Bernard Newman. (To your information Bernard, I have more 30-40's clothing in actual size 38 if you are interested.)

What is your favorite hat crease?

Shows how utilitarian hats were (widely) seen back then. I guess most here would get a heartstroke if someone pushed a tack into the brim. Those creases are great.

There is photographic evidence of Le Corbusier working unencumbered by any clothing. He apparently felt most creative that way. ... Here by the way Le Corbusier with his co-workers... some nice 1940's European casual clothing...

    Volksdeutsche

@filfoster Nazi notions of Germanness were founded on the idea of racial affiliation, not on the pre-war Reich borders, which were perceived by the Nazis to be too constricting, artificial and outdated. Hence the desire to expand the Reich to include „living space“ in the East. In the...

1930's German Linen Sportcoat Sz. 40

The sleeves of the Austrian work jacket have been let out (and a cotton edge added) to 64 cm. The back length is 68 cm (including collar). So yes... rather short.
