The following online hat retailers and custom hatters have a nice selection of quality hats and caps at fair prices and will give you a good idea of what's available new and at what sort of prices, which will give you an idea as to what constitutes a good price and what doesn't.
New hats and...
I quite agree.
I started out with a few lower priced woolies but soon discovered that good fur felts were incomparably superior.
I think that a very dark gray, or even black, suit and a black fur felt hat are really an indispensable part of a man's wardrobe, suitable for any fairly conservative...
You asked, so here's my undiplomatic two cents worth:
You don't need more suits, just dump that hat.
A mid to light gray hat should go fairly well with all the color clothing that you mentioned.
You're not a long slim high cheekbone type, and you really would look much better in a wider brim...
To provide good information about your hats, the "hat experts" are going to need to see photographs that show the entire inside of the hats, as well as any tags underneath the sweatbands.
Water doesn't hurt Sunbody hats but they are not waterproof. They will soak through and you will get your head wet unless its just a light drizzle or you're outside only a short time.
Sunbodys are also quite heavy compared to other straw hats, with the "fine" ones being considerably heavier than...
"Are these pretty stiffly creased?"
Mine was pre-creased, not open-crown, and it is as stiff as the stiffest of my Akubras with brims under 3" width.
It's also the thinnest and lightest of my Akubras, along with my American version Akubra Adventurer. My size 58 RM weighs 4.8 ounces lined.
His caption says that it's a Silverbelly Campdraft by Akubra

as is moontheloon's hat five posts above it on the same page.
Most certainly.
There are few things sillier looking than a man chasing his hat down the street.
Therefore, I have long thought it foolish to wear a wide brimmed hat on windy days.
That's what wind trolleys and chin straps are for, or, better yet, very small brims, heavy bowlers, caps, and...
I fear that they may be a little too dark for your liking, but have a look at the Stetson Chatham and Whippet in Tawny on this web page:

Whoops, sorry.
I overlooked your request for a wind trolley on the hat.
That is going to be a little...
Yes, but boorishness would, I think, be a more appropriate word than guts. Fortunately I do not believe that verbal insults should be met with physical replies, as a hard Christys' bowler might well cause serious injury or death if applied forcibly while inverted to the soft part of an...
Of my very many hats and caps, only the following have ever received any comments, in order of frequency of comments per wearing:
1.Interstellar Propeller beanie propeller cap (always)
2.Very (4.5") long-haired goatskin papakha
3.Very (9") tall sheepskin papakha
4.Christy's of London fur felt...
For sun protection, I like the Reef and the Range most from among Akubra's hemp hats.
They have the widest brims at 83mm.
The Range is differs from the Reef in having a vented crown and a different pugaree hatband.
They don't look very "city" or "formal" because of their wide brims, their...
I have been told, and the photographs of the hats appear to support this, that the Akubra Fedora sold in Australia, is the same hat as the Akubra Sydney sold in North America, except that the hats come in somewhat different colors and the Fedora has a wind trolley.
I have an Akubra Sydney...
The Akubra Byron hemp hat, which is the precise same hat as the Akubra Planter, except that it does not have a curled brim edge and has a different hat band, surprisingly to me, turned out to have a true snap brim. I can wear it down all around, as pictured on websites, or up all around, or down...
