Scored this old Woolrich jacket today. Just how old, I'm not sure but it kind of has a '30s/'40s vibe to me. The back is un-belted and unremarkable but in good condition. What do you think?

Then there' this little number. I'm not usually a big fan of hand painted ties but this one caught my attention. Turns out it's not vintage at all. Very nice silk though, and I like the artwork. Tag is totally modern and glued on.

Not particularly flashy, but has the hallmarks of a '40s tie so I bought it. No labels though.

Got these Gold Bonds the other day. Also found the 1959 newspaper ad which corresponds to their logo and the Canadian retail store where they were sold. I was drawn to the textured grain of the leather. Makes them even more 'country casual' in my opinion. The leather is soft-ish and I used a...

    Green Detroit, 1942

I was born in Detroit. So was my dad, and his dad, and his dad... I was a child when my father got us out and headed for Florida. My father was born in 1914 which means he was in his thirties in the '40s. Wow, that must have been sumthin'! They called Detroit "The Paris of the West" back then. A...

Vintage TownCraft Brogues Brown 7.5D $15

You're right about the quality level 'Lux. I owned, then sold, a Penney's pair almost exactly like yours but in a larger size. Scotch grain uppers. Goodyear storm welt. Leather insoles. These shoes are BUILT. It'd take over $400 to come close to them from a modern maker.

    (Re)Book-em Danno

The only remakes I seem to like are the super hero motion pictures. I was a kid when the original series ran. LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT. I was Hawaii Five-Ohin' it in my imagination everywhere I went. We had just moved from Detroit to Orlando too, so there were palm trees and a tropical...
