Oh yes, the addiction has taken many forms over the years. Hats, shoes, being the latest.
Never held a pair of Aldens. They certainly are good. Had to get them to clean up, examine and ultimately resell.
Hey, Neo'. Saw that one in another thread. Didn't realize it was green - looks grey in photos. Plenty of brim on that but it looks like you can handle it. :eusa_clap
And a pair of pairs of Aldens. Too big for me, oh well. They seem to be from different eras judging by the two styles of logos. Any ideas as to vintage?...
Heads Up, Tomasso! I've been at it again! :D

Got these tired old bucks just to see if I could refurb them. Worked out OK and I'm wearing 'em now.
BEFORE
AFTER (Used a combination of rubber eraser, razor blade, sandpaper and brush on the Newbuck. Then...
I know there's a Loungers Whom You Miss thread, or some such, but I'm puttin' this here:
Where have Torpedo and Mr. Paladin been lately?? I miss those guys. Are you lurkin'? Major League hat-wearers in my opinion and all-around good chaps.
:)
Nice acquisitions, folks! :eusa_clap

I did a little 'horse-trading' with rlk. Here are the caps I got outta' the deal. Thanks, Robert! :)
I smoke original Camels. Can't beat the quality of their tobacco. Recently, though, I ran across a store selling unfiltered Luckys. They were OK. Smooth but not as much flavor as I'm used to. Don't know about Lucky filtered. :)
Thanks, HosMan'. And that Champ straw you scored looks like it'll be fun to wear!

Dave E, those cattleman creases grow on you, don't they!? I think it's a winner as-is.

rlk, that's a really good looking summer hat, man!
Excellent thread, rumblefish!

I've worn hats all my life and always have been comfortable being 'me' as far as style goes. Always liked the '40s look. Arrived here with certain good instincts but had an underdeveloped knowledge base. Essentially, I learned a LOT here about...
Do those trousers REALLY have only a 20-3/4" waist (with a 31+" inseam)??? Never heard of such a thing, unless that was bespoke tailored for Jack Skelington.
Never heard of a "New York" until you got this one. Thanks for sharing the info. It shares many features and spec of my Stetson Twenty Mode Edge. Very nice fedora for sure! :eusa_clap
Peddle this. :D
I can't find anything wrong with them - only the slightest wear on insoles and soles/heels. Size 9D. A little wider than I would prefer but the fit isn't bad. Makes it hard to decide to sell them...
 Ouch. Sorry to hear you wiped out.
While the Cold Steel job looks very classy, I'd want a walking stick with a 'T' handle if I were using it to support a bum leg. Hope you get better...
I think the complimentary spirit of your comment is clear - and I completely agree. Details, but without overdoing it at all. Perfect balance in almost all their design schemes. I've always been knocked out by Japanese textile and architectural design.
