It's useless to speculate, but my initial guess was Octagon. Unless Vanson can look it up by the serial # and confirm what it's made from, that's what I'd say it is.
Looks like a good one. I've handled a few Schott jackets made with thick/heavy leather, and a surprising number of supposed-to-be MC jackets by Schott that felt distressingly thin. I always prefer the beefy stuff.
I couldn't find a specific answer to that, but there's this page on their website which has what info I could find about it. Seems that it's ongoing, but I don't know when it was initiated.

Thanks. I feel like this guide would be useful as a Sticky post on the top of the Classifieds forum. I wonder if the moderators could be persuaded to make that happen?
I sent them an email, will see if I get a response in a reasonable time, if not I'll try calling. In the meantime, possible HH Vanson Comet at a potential steal price :) Buy now before the price goes up!
Interesting... I'm not one to speculate, but I don't see it labeled anywhere as such. It does have a tight grain and stiffness consistent with certain known FQHH jackets that I've had, so it possibly could be HH. I can try to find out, but Vanson have not been the best at responding to...
I've taken some time to get around to it, but here's my findings after reading up on the major used clothing marketplaces on the web, with links to where I found the information (because it's all subject to change, of course, and I'm focusing on the seller's perspective, rather than the...
For as much "patina" as the shell has, the lining is in very nice shape. I didn't think Aero did artificial distressing to their leather, but it could have been done after the fact, but it doesn't look like real wear to me. If it is, it could be the jacket was re-lined recently.
Vanson Comet, in "mirage brown" leather. Initially I thought this was "octagon" but the two have a very similar appearance. Tagged 46, but it's a snug fitting, short jacket. A little too roomy for me in the midsection, so I am selling it. Condition is excellent, no issues whatsoever. It's a...
Here's a nice, lightly broken in Good Wear A-2, and without the multi-year wait.
Leather is a soft, supple, and broken in nicely, russet veg tanned horsehide. Waldes zipper. Mid-brown wool knits, in excellent condition, Mid-brown cotton thread. Direct attached collar.
Tagged size 46, but it's...
I'm giving the Lounge first crack at this beautiful Langlitz Crescent motorcycle jacket. You don't see a Crescent come up for sale nearly as often as you do the much more common Columbia and Cascade models. This is a longer style than the aforementioned designs, but still a rider's jacket.
This...
This Equilibre jacket weighs in at about 4.5 lbs, maybe a hair under. It's reasonably heavy leather, but not super heavy, and not at all stiff. It actually feels really nice. I'm sure sorry it's not quite big enough for me... I just wish I could find it again in my size, but this maker seems...
I have a black leather jacket made by Equilibre Paris Des Les Halles, a maker I know nothing about. I bought it because it looks almost exactly like an M-65 field jacket. It's a little snug on me, and the sleeves are a bit short, but I would love to find this exact jacket in my size. It seems...
