These 2 belong to Garret and came from Steve's (mayserwegener) great 1930's NOS find. The first is a nice gray and the second is a wild one almost beyond description:
Black Sheep Hat Works conversion from a wide brim flat top western body. I really liked the patina, open weave, and vented crown. Not the best weave quality but this one will get a lot of wear in it's new blocking and trim.
This one was in Bob's surplus rack, a kind of flat top western wide brim that I passed over many times before finally realizing the vented crown and patina were pretty damn kool. The weave isn't the best but I love the patina and openness of the weave. Bob transformed it into this:

Garrett and I visited Bob again today so naturally I came home with a couple of hats. The first is a heather bunny in lichen with vintage borsy ribbon and halo edge. My favorite details of this one are the long awaited embossed sweatband (very kool vintage detail) and the vented crown.
Great lids this weekend and all week in fact, I expect nothing less here. Since I'm a straw nazi, special shout out to Eric's fine Supernatural, one of my favorite brands. A treasure Eric!
