Agreed.
It all depends on how much brim you are willing to give up, if you're just talking stretching---> one size only e.g. - 7 3/8 to a 7 1/2, done sloooooww and incrementally.
The Shady Oaks was the only Carter hat I was aware of. During my childhood, while he was still living, Carter was famous worldwide for handing these out like Chiclets to visitors to his Ft. Worth ranch. It made an impression on me 'cause he was also one hellava art collector and museum...
I cannot understand why I had zero competition for a Peter Bros. Shady Oak Forty!
In a 7 1/2 yet!
It's an old one with the prominent marking indicating 'Swiss Hoods'. Arguably the most storied CB hats of the 2o'th century, Amon Carter and all.
Call me a heretic, but I am likely to cut the brim...
I JUST STOLE THIS:
from our friends at Hats in the Belfry, this being the last of three remaining Stetson Premier Stratoliner - Open Crown Fur Felt Fedoras, and the only 7 3/8, for $117 shipped!
That's why I am running. I have a 4o's model and can't wait to compare the two.
HAPPY STRAW HAT DAY!
a month early
As new as the end of last years straw season. A HELEN KAMINSKY, from Australia, clearly a subfino brisa (right?) but feels great and sits quite lightly.
They seem to be terribly overpriced when new, though, the workmanship is nice, fwiw.
Beautiful old Borso, thought I might luck out with a Punti seven, but alas, no.
So it's yours for what I have in it. Some days you screw the pooch...
PM me here, please.
...now I know a punti 5 correlates with a US 7 1/8 but this one might well need a gentle reminder (stretch). Worth it.
I dunno what this guy thinks 'shangtung; is... but I have a summer buzz cut and it might fit... little help?
I don't need another but the OCD is talkin' to me...lol
