Eastman Leather Clothing Ostmann Luftwaffe Jacket Brown

some interesting history there. I have one of the very first which were made with a satin lining and a lighter gauge centre zip. I think Gary told me it was one of the first dozen (or was it 20?) before they switched to the brushed cotton lining and a stronger zip. I have to say the satin lining...

    DEADSTOCK 1920s WIDE BRIM FLAT CAPS - UK 7 1/8 - Eu 58 - US 7 1/4

I'm a size 57 too. My head measures dead-on 57cm, and I can wear both caps OK. I find caps like these without a leather sweatband are very forgiving over a range. 57-58 definitely, stretch to 59 probably.

    Highland Dress

This issue is dicussed in the bagpipe Forum thread I linked to, though I appreciate 7 pages of obscure piping history is probably heavy going for non-pipers! But the main point are these: 1] the unfortunate James Reid was convicted in England by an English court, so any precedent would not...

    DEADSTOCK 1920s WIDE BRIM FLAT CAPS - UK 7 1/8 - Eu 58 - US 7 1/4

I'll use EU sizing to avoid confusion between US and UK... The Birkett cap is spot on 58 with my hat measuring tool. The unbranded Scottish cap is bigger, spot-on 58.5. I would have thought they'd stretch to 59, though obviously I can't guarantee this. The wool is quite lightweight, it's not a...

1930s BLACK LEATHER JACKET by AERO/LEVI LVC 2002 - horsehide "Thunderbird"

yep, postage over 2kg is a real drag on selling heavier items from the UK. Funnily enough, it's one thing that ebay's GSP scores on, at higher weights the GSP is - incredibly -usually cheaper, presumably they've negotiated a cheap deal with some guy with a rowing boat

1930s BLACK LEATHER JACKET by AERO/LEVI LVC 2002 - horsehide "Thunderbird"

I sometimes wonder if I'm fated to keep it! No bites in 2014 on FL or evilbay. It was on ebay just now at £300 with around 40 watchers and several enquiries but again no one bid. Funny thing is, whatever i price it at people keep asking if I'll reduce it. I opiginally wanted £400 for it and...

1930s BLACK LEATHER JACKET by AERO/LEVI LVC 2002 - horsehide "Thunderbird"

bumping this old thread because this jacket is again up for sale (details above). Price is £250 plus postage which will be £19.28 within the UK, £104.65 to Japan, £85.55 to USA, and £73.98 to Germany!! Sorry but once over 2kg postage from the UK goes crazy

    G.A.Dunn & Co

the combo of narrow brim with wide band is archetypal in 1930s British hats, and dropped rapidly out of fashion in the 40s. The graphics, in particular the style of the sweatband stamp. The prominent "GA" in the logo, and on both sweat and liner. After George Arthur's death in 1939 the "GA"...
