I thought that there was some significant variance in the batches with Vicenza. The original stuff looked amazing, rich color and lots of grain, but later vic that was typical of 2017-2018 jackets seemed to be flatter in color and less grainy. I've only seen one Vicenza jacket in person, a used...
In general, I prefer more natural looking colors. Granted, black is not really a natural color, and most of the browns we see are dyed that color. I like colored leather to be an off-brown, like what cordovan and russet are, basically brown with a touch of red or purple.
The olive color from...
CXL starts off very stiff, as you know, but it can soften considerably, and when it does it becomes even more amazing. I'm not sure how long this takes, as I have so many jackets that none gets that much wear very quickly, and probably won't during my lifetime at this rate. But one of my used...

"Vanson Competition Weight Cowhide is 1.5 mm thick, polished and waxed by hand to bring out its unique characteristics, after which the leather receives a topcoat . This proprietary process results in a smooth, stiff feel and a good...
The Vanson x Left Field Commando is a special edition, isn't it? I'm not sure it makes for the best comparison.
I wouldn't say that Vanson doesn't make a top tier jacket, at all, but in comparing their current leather they market as "comp weight leather" it does seem to me that it is thinner...
I can't dispute the variance over time claim without access to a lot more data, so for sake argument I'll concede that leather varies. But I can point to vanson's website which specifies the thickness in mm, and compare it to actual measurements of their jackets, and see that things don't add...
I would, but I would qualify that in terms of materials, not worksmanship. The current "comp weight" is not as thick as it used to be, and it is obvious.
And as we're talking about it, they are surely listening, and will react to feedback.
These. Every man needs 30 good, wooden hangers for their leather jackets.

Trees are a carbon sink while they grow, they pull CO2 from the atmosphere and turn it into wood. The wood is the sink. As long as the wood doesn't get released back into the atmosphere through burning, it's good. Living trees do continue to pull carbon out of the sky, though.
