Thank you for the kind words, it's been my life's work, I guess you could say!

    1940s/1950s cars vs. 1960s cars

Maybe I've been lucky. I have had a lot of cars from the sixties and seventies, in the past few years, and have done alright. The biggest issues I usually have is brakes and exhaust. That's not the car's fault, though. Rust is a huge issue here in Salt country. I've bought cars that sat for...

Thanks! I don't know if you ever looked through it, but I did a thread specifically on brewery collecting awhile back. My most recent acquisition. Been wanting one of these!

    Why the 1920s-1940s?

Very true. Rest assured, I love the internet, I love satellite radio, and I love that even over my rabbit ears, I get far more channels than I got growing up. It would be silly to be so stubborn as to push away the good, just because you don't like the bad. Would I trade the conveniences off to...

    What was your first car...???

    Mine was a 1960 Chevy Bel-Air.

    1940s/1950s cars vs. 1960s cars

I have to agree that this was a huge, huge part of it. Look at the things that gave Cadillac a reputation that it still hasn't recovered from. The V 8-6-4, the HT4100, and, of course, the Cimarron. All efforts for fuel efficiency. To this day, that's an issue. FoMoCo had to kill off the Panther...

Not a Bud drinker, but this was too neat to pass up. From the late fifties, or early sixties.

Thanks! I got one identical to it for my father, a couple Christmases ago. These date from the 1930's or so.

Got this, today. From when you needed an opener to open your can of beer. You would put the can of beer in and pull the lever down. Basically, a professional grade church key.

    An immense amount of guilt

Pretty much the cut and dry of it, in one statement. I will also add, while I haven't been in your situation, my sister has, with a broken beer stein that was part of my Grandpa's collection. When my Grandpa passed, in November. My father, and us 3 kids were the last in the family to be...

Vintage Picking and Road Tripping with Dinerman

I always wondered how you found so much neat stuff. Glad to see you're doing it the old fashioned way!

    Excessive posting? ... Interesting.....

My current job calls for a white, snap-button work shirt with my name on it, and blue dickies. I'm glad to have a uniform that's professionally cleaned. Saves my washer and dryer. When I worked in retail, I was department manager, in Electronics. A professional look was encouraged, so I always...

Thanks! I can't wait, either. I know the guy who did the cleanup when this place went into foreclosure. He said they didn't even know the shed was back there, the back yard had been neglected and allowed trees to grow around it. I HATE my driveway lol The rain washes it onto the sidewalk and...
