    Bemidji Woolen Mills

I understand now, I felt you were referring to clothing you were able to access locally not through the online auctions. I certainly appreciate your efforts although I don't utilize eBay any longer....Thanks regardless. Retromoto

    Bemidji Woolen Mills

That's odd, unless there's some type of regional differences due to physical makeups due to work ethic, family genealogy, etc. there shouldn't be much difference. Years ago I purchased a 1950's, men's (42) "SOO" zip up Red/Back hunting coat which I searched for a long time in a (44) although...

    Bemidji Woolen Mills

It sounds like the Johnson/Benmidji items run a bit large, good information as I have a e-mail into Benmidji concerning sizing and I'm still waiting for a reply......I agree about the wool shirts, I especially like the "Spruce" color. Thanks for the heads-up. Retromoto

The Dehen Stalwart is certainly a great looking jacket although I don't believe it's available in the Red/Black Shadow print I'm looking for. I only saw a navy and loden on their site. Retromoto

I wear a 42-44 depending on Mfg. I've been watching the used market although since men were a bit smaller in past, I have not come across too many larger sized coats. I agree, the older Mfg.'s did a great job on clothing. Retromoto

I've been disappointed in the last (2) wool items I've purchased from Filson, unfortunate as I like their styling on several products. Retromoto

Thanks for the reply, Were you a online customer or a walk-in? Did you forget Woolrich as a USA wool supplier? Retromoto

    Bemidji Woolen Mills

I'm looking to replace a older L.L. Bean wool Mackinaw and came across Bemidji Woolen Mills. Has anyone done business with them? It sounds like their wool coats are built to order, If anyone has a item of theirs, is the quality good? Communications? Ease of ordering? I'm basically looking for a...

    Vintage Eyeglasses

I did not wear them for years and suffered although later was able to get them through a industrial safety glass supplier which supplied my "Shop " glasses before I retired. BTW, Did your eye doctor fit you for the frame you purchased or did you order these on your own? Retomoto

    Vintage Eyeglasses

I've wore glasses w/ cable temples for 35 years and while I agree with you regarding the compromising of the appearance, I would still recommend covers on the temples. The cables can really bite into the sensitive area behind your ears and once irritated, can really be a painful nuisance. This...

    6" Cap Toe Boots

It appears the Viberg SB is available in several types of leather. That said, while Viberg certainly makes a very nice looking boot, they're out of my price range. Retromoto

    6" Cap Toe Boots

In my search, I've stumbled across "Dayton" Boots and their "Parade Boot" model looks interesting. I've requested information from them, waiting for an answer. Has anyone any experience with "Dayton"? If I can get the leather I'm interested in, this boot looks to be a solid contender. Retomoto

    Vintage Eyeglasses

I've wore "Art-Craft Art-Rimway's" for over 30 years and was very happy with them. They're light, durable and without a frame edge to look around, my eyesight improves. I wear bi-focals and the progressive lens works very well on the "Rimway". It seems the larger size(compared to modern small...

    Oil & Silicon tanned

As the OP of this thread, I feel I should clear some things up. The words Oil Tanned and Silcon Tanned were actually provided to me by a boot manufacturer. I did not pull them out of the air or from this site. I'm aware oils are frequently used in the tanning process, I wanted to know at what...

    Oil & Silicon tanned

I think the Oils or Silicon is added after the basic tanning process has taken place for an increased weatherproofing although not positive so I thought I'd ask. Retromoto

    Oil & Silicon tanned

I'm looking at several different upscale boots and have come across the words Silicon and Oil Tanned. While I'm certainly not an authority on tanning, I always thought these two descriptions were enhancements to the basic tanning processes, not actual tanning methods in themselves. Can anyone...

    6" Cap Toe Boots

My ankle was also fractured along with serious ligament/tendon damage. As I get older the flexibility is just not there any longer. I typically have to switch shoes often just to give the ankle a change to deal with which seems to help. Thanks for the Whites comfort info, good to know. Retromoto
