How to clean the inside (wool) lining of a leather jacket?

Yet another cleaning question. What soap to use. I wish to clean the cotton drill liner of my Aero Californian, to rinse out any accumulated sweat, body oil residue and stuff, from the sleeves and pits. I've turned it inside out and plan to spray it with a liquid cleaner then rinse in the shower...

Advice needed - Akubra Federation IV

I have a few Akubras. I find that Heritage felt will shrink about the same as Imperial under most wet weather conditions. If you experience taper from shrinkage, the only option is to re stretch the shrunk felt. The best method involves removal of the sweat and ribbon. If you're not up to this...

    Victory leather cleaning

Thank you. I've read some of the threads on washing the whole jacket in a machine. There are those who say they've had no ill effects and others who say it turned out bad. I don't need to clean the whole thing, just the liner. I want to avoid and possible shrinkage since the jacket is already short.

    Victory leather cleaning

I am getting a previously owned BK in victory horse and have heard the hide is not very water repellent. How do I clean the cotton drill liner? I thought about spaying some watered down mild soap like Woolite on the pits and down the inside of the sleeves, let sit, then rinse with warm /hot...

Newbie Questions As I Plan For My First Custom Aero

All good advice. I have a fqhh and a heavy steer Teamster. I found that the horse repels water better/longer than the steer as horse hide is denser.

    Teamster for sale 46

I've decided to sell my Aero Teamster. It's a great jacket but just can't get used to the lapel collar styling. It's a brown Storse I bought from a fellow lounger who got it from the grand theft sale. Mostly heavy steer with a little horse thrown in. Labeled horse but definitely steer. I've worn...

How to repair a fedora's brim?

I have re blocked many shrunken rabbit hats. I flatten a brim by spraying it with distilled water , cover it with a piece of white t-shirt material Ive cut to fit over the crown, and use an iron that I don't put water in. water stored in an iron can produce rust over time. I use the cotton...
