    The Artist

Oh, if only I were closer to Maine. I doubt my town will ever have it (but they can devote screen after screen to some such 3D garbage!), and I really don't want to go all the way to the "big" city for a movie. Woe is me.

    Call the Midwife - BBC

Thank you, Kitty. I will keep an eye out for the books. I love Vanessa Redgrave's voice-over as the mature Jenny (assuming it's straight from the book?).

    "Sherlock" BBC series.

So Moffett apparently Tweeted that they filmed the ending of the last episode to make it fairly obvious what happened so that it wasn't Sherlock who hit the sidewalk. Anyone figure it out?

    Our Senior Centers

Yes. A lovely gesture that meant something all around and even here to all of us. My daughters' 4H club always goes and does wandering carol singing at a different nursing home. The kids bring little gifts like lip balm or calendars and are encouraged to shake hands and such. It's always a...

    Call the Midwife - BBC

I was about to start a thread on this... And ta da! I quite like it, but it can be rather emotional at times. But overall well done with a nice mix of nostalgia and hard reality. I too tuned in for the clothes! Glad the rest of it is pretty good, too!

Images of History Cleaned Up & Colourized

Odd. I was actually surprised some of those better known photos, like Che and the Vietnam ones, were NOT in color in the first place. I guess they're that vivid they become colorized in the consciousness.

    "Sherlock" BBC series.

I was left speechless after last night's episode. And I knew how it would end. It was THAT good. And yes, Cumberbatch is now the Sherlock Holmes to beat. Perfection.

    "Sherlock" BBC series.

I really doubt Sir AC Doyle could have begun to imagine the things that happened in the Hound episode. But I hope he would love it as much as I did!

I, too, saw the first of the second series yesterday. Gorgeous. Loved it! And yes. Nuance is really what it's all about. Brilliant.

    New Years Eve

I always have the "dream" of going out somewhere special with my husband and having a big celebration. But there's really no place to go around here. So we've sort of developed the tradition of staying in with the kiddos (my youngest was thrilled to *finally* make it to midnight last year...
