    Vintage Military Glove Sizing

I have seen three different sizing systems used in gloves. First the basic XS, S, M, L, XL (pretty basic) Second a number system that indicates the number of inches around the widest part of your hand. See here...

    Kilts

That is one beautiful kilt - is it a tweed or just a very small set tartan? Also, it looks like it wraps right over left, so the opening in the apron is on your left...I've only see kilts where the opening is on the the wearers right...

    Question about the Raiders brim

I have yet to find a hat that does NOT touch the top of my head! Even my Campdraft with a minimal center bash still touches the top of my noggin. I guess I've just got a high dome head.

    Where to Get 1940s-Style Trousers?

I've had good luck at Jos A Bank. In general, the rise of their trousers is 12" for my size 36" waist pants. For me that puts the top of the waist band right at my navel. I've also found higher waisted trousers at Macy's and Dillard's and other national department stores. The trick is to...

    Courage to Wear a Fedora

My advice is to take your time. Give yourself the time to discover who you are and what makes you happy and then give that gift of happiness to yourself. You like hats? Then you should wear them. After my divorce I realized I no longer knew who I was or what I wanted or even what I...

    The Annual Affliction.

I was a boomerang kid...Post college I moved to CA to find a job and get my carreer started. No such luck. (I ended up singing in the Sacramento Opera Company's chorus of La fanciulla del West just to make spending cash). Eventually I gave it up, put my tail between my legs and called my...

Where to find high waisted pants for under $75

You're never going to know what you like or what works without trying them on. I suggest Joseph A Bank. They have their Travelor Pleated Khaki's on sale now for $60 (over 50% off). They are resonable high waisted and the stores are everywhere: go in and try a pair on.

    Ring around the Collar-- HELP!

I have the same problem. Apparently, that ring is NOT dirt, it's oil from your skin, so to truly remove it you need a soap that is designed to break up oil. Dawn does work if the stain has not been set in, but you need to scrub. I've found that the Oxyclean spray designed for treating laundry...
