Art, why did it make sense "for a while"? Are you suggesting it doesn't make sense anymore to have a size adjustment like that (I know modern hats aren't generally made that way anymore). What has changed? -

Get the 60 and some padding. It will shrink. Almost all of my hats are Akubra's. My true size is 59.4 and I always get size 60 and within 6 months or so of regular wear the leather sweat shrinks and I no longer needs the padding. -
