    European vs. American Automotive Histories

Something else that bears mentioning: The size of the countries in Europe; England is a tiny country, relatively speaking. No real need for a roomy, comfortable car if all you ever do with it is ride across town. Europeans have generally used trains, etc for long range trips. Which would you...

    Bathtub Nashes....

Others: -Mergers without synergy, like Packard/Studebaker -Independents without $$$ for innovation (Nash, Hudson, Frazer) Seems like there was a thread about this, what if Nash and Packard had merged?

Beep Beep was a late 50s novelty song. Now that you mention it, there is a bit of Tex Avery in the Nash Airflyte lines....

    Barbeque

    Bathtub Nashes....

This has potential as a thread.... The Hudson DOES have some of the bathtub vibe, but for me the full-skirt front fenders on the Nash set it off... Let's see some more pictures, folks!

    Tips for restoring a radio

Thoughts.... The biggest issue is the capacitors. ALL of them. You see, vintage iron (i.e. electric, or vacuum tube, radios) uses electrolytic capacitors. Electrolytic caps have a paste in them that dries up over time; the easy way to tell if you have bad caps is if the rig hums after it...

My WWII sailor Uniform/suit: Do I dry clean or can I wash?

If it's a Service Dress Blue jumper, it needs to be 1) dry cleaned and 2) pressed in a VERY specific manner; a lot of Dry Cleaners are totally clueless about Navy Uniforms. The Neckerchief needs to be rolled in a specific manner and tied in a square knot, as well. Suggestions: 1) Post...

How do you like your hats to fit?

I like a firm fit, for lack of a better adjective.... Some amount of band mark on my forehead. That's probably due to when I was on active duty in the USN. The wind howls down the pier, especially when you are going between 2 CVNs. If your hat fits properly, you'll never need a wind trolley.
