help me get started
I'm a hat guy......never leave the house without one.......but I'm talking caps and wooly hats......I need a proper grown up man hat........but the rub is I have big head.....easily a 7 1/2, so I need some advice from the experts....Oh and I'm a tight scotsman so lets peg the budget at between... -

Great stuff guys......CatsCan has done his homework......the N1 truly is a minefield! I had the BR Demotex briefly......sleeves were huge! The IH does not have lined sleeves and I think it works.....makes the jacket more comfortable to wear.- breezer

but at least I'll be completely satisfied with a custom jacket best of luck......but there are dozens of people here that have gone down the custom route and its hasn't worked out........trying a jacket on for fit and size prior to purchase is priceless- breezer

rarely seen MF N1 for sale over at the IH forum - at one point I really really wanted one, but I think I was more enamoured with the brand, rather that the actual jacket. The ad includes a measurements chart which is useful.....I'm led to believe this model has really thick lining. Price seems...- breezer

my first deck jacket was an A2.....wore the hell out of it! Will need to look at this guy in Hamburg - coincidently I bought a cold weather flying jacket from the Rider Room in Hamburg many years ago! Its a really great shop, well worth searching out if you are in the area......- breezer

price wise you cant go wrong with Pike Bros. Bronson are worth a look too. They are cheaper than the rest and plenty of people here are happy with them. Worth considering Buzz Rickson too. They come in around £450. All the premium ones have their fans, it just depends how deep your pockets...- breezer

Very much enjoying the IH N1. Couldn't be happier with the fit. Not really fussed about historical accuracy.......so I like the heavy weight zipper, and I particularly like the way the zip can separate from the bottom, makes the jacket very versatile.
