I picked up a Knox 7 3/8 LO earlier in the year off EBAY...and I'm amazed I got it at the price I did. That said...there sure aren't many larger sized vintage toppers out there, let alone the LOs.

I've got a nice green wool felt Mallory by Stetson on OFAS this week. I had bought it for use as a casual type hat but it just pinches my long oval head from front to back to much to be comfortable to wear and the stiffness is such that I really didn't want to battle it with the stretcher. The...
From what I can tell from the pics, it looks to be in great condition. I'm not a fan of the Optimo crease down the middle...but Graham reblocked an old Cavanagh Montecristi for me this summer and pretty much removed the crease entirely and put in a nice teardrop bash. That's what I was...

Anyone involved in the $300 bidding war on this one? I'd been watching it all week but tempered my bid a bit due to the Knox I won earlier in the week...but even if I hadn't downed my top bid amount, I still...
I've always wondered what the price point/quantity point might be for something like this to happen...and have often wondered if Steve's orders would have supported such...of course, his stuff is raw edge and wouldn't have matched up...
I do love that overwelt, though, Art! One of these...
I like to think that every time I find a nice hat on ebay. The gray knox that ended last night had those hopes and the price was even low the day before...but the bidding broke $100 by the time I placed my winning bid...was hoping to have won it for half that. Still, I don't think it was...
Panama Back from Optimo
Returned from vacation to find a package from Optimo Hats awaiting. :) Sent the Cavanagh Panama (won on auction site, but not ebay) in to get reblocked, resized, cleaned, and reshaped. I'm very pleased with the results. The previously too-small hat now rests...
Back from Optimo
Returned from vacation to find a package from Optimo Hats awaiting. :) Sent the Cavanagh Panama in to get reblocked, resized, cleaned, and reshaped. I'm very pleased with the results. The previously too-small hat now rests comfortably on my 7 3/8 Long Oval. It's quite a...
Brad,
I've got a Sovereign with Mode Edge stamped into the sweatband and a date of 1949 on the backside of the sweatband. You may have already gone earlier than this, as I see this is an older post...

They told me up front about the vacation, so I'm not too worried about turn around time. Heck, I've been waiting on an Adventurbilt from Nov 2007 and a Randall Made Knife from Dec 2005...the joke around here is my son will never know what he might get in the mail should I kick the bucket :)...
OK...I've already ragged on my Mom for not finding me some nice vintage hats in the greater Milwaukee area...and now you're pulling hats out of my area in Colorado!!!
You've had some amazing finds this year! :eusa_clap

It arrived at Optimo this past week for cleaning and reblocking--I asked about whether it had been treated or sprayed with something...they said it was a sulfer bleaching.
I checked with Dinerman...appears to be a bit different coating. I hadn't even noticed it at first (haven't had a straw before), so at least I know whatever treatment was done, it is uniform and appears to be as intended. I'm guessing something to lighten the color. Anyway, I shipped it off...
A Permanant Addition
My Panama Cavanagh arrived the other day and I was very pleased when I opened the box :) It is going to be a keeper. I bought this off a small auction site, didn't have much info, never got a reply back to my questions...it wasn't even listed as a Panama hat, although it...
