What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Oh, that's "Porky" ... last name "Pie" :-) Is that a special cup to protect your mustache from coffee stains?

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

Interesting thoughts. Who knows, someday we might see a US president wearing jeans and Hawaii shirt for his/her inauguration. Interesting that British lawyers and judges still wear wigs in court :-)

Sunny day on a Hawaiian beach ... I'd wear NOTHING at all :) I know most Americans are not into nude bathing, but according to Google you have atleast two Nude-Beaches on Kauai ... Secret-Beach and Donkey-Beach.

Die Meister Marke (= The Master Brand) "Turin Mohair". Made with Angora goat wool. Originally a Trilby; I converted it to a Pork Pie. Possibly from 50's - 60's.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Nice. I was observing that one too, but shipping costs to Germany ruin almost any bargain for me. So this is name we see for you on eBay ... 7***-(65) ?

Ask a question, get an answer

You might ruin the hat by soaking it in water. The leather sweat will most likely shrink and even if the water doesn't damage the hemp weave directly, it will be more fragil in wet state and definately lose its shape. How about baking soda in a bowl and then putting hat and bowl in a plastic...

    5 seconds............which hat ?

A major, life threatening catastrophe ... and all you guys and girls are trying to save is a fedora, really? Ofcourse it depends on the kind of catastrophe, but I would assume it is more pratical to wear a bike, motorcycle or military helmet, for head protection :-)

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

From what year could this flyer be? Doesn't look older than 60's. Never seen a "Leo" logo in a Borsalino. Does anyone have an example to show here?

The felt is fairly stiff and thin, but with a smooth touch. Not sure who actually produced them, but according to @mayserwegener aka @habigman "Römer Hut is for the Römer City Hall, Frankurt am Main"

They both are the same style. Mine has a grey sweatband, the liner is sown in with a protective cellophane layer. Is a glued or sown in liner an age indicator?

Römer Hut in "Stratoliner" style. The felt is fairly stiff and thin. Unfortunately no tags and only a very weak sweatband imprint. Difficult to estimate the age.

This Stanton "Bogart" has a wonderful soft touch and nice color combination. Could be wrong, but the paper tag looks like it's from 80's or later.
