Thanks Ton, the lines are made by drawing them. I could write words out - the sleeves and back have this suede-like aspect that I don't care for and am deeply concerned about how it will age. I do not want a sueded "grey" black leather jacket ;)
The lines are raised by drawing them - the arms and yoke have this suede-like quality that I'm not very happy about. I'll talk to Carrie. I wanted some opinions here before I mentioned anything. Thanks guys!
Hey guys,
I have a question that I've wanted to get some opinions on. I took delivery of my first FQHH Aero premier HWM in July. I've worn it as much as possible this summer indoors trying to break it in a little and it's probably seen no more than 5 hours of wear.
Curiously, at certain angles...
Great post & jacket, Dan.
You've brought up a detail that I actually was going to bring up to you guys (not trying to hijack your post here, my apologies): my premier HWM that I received in July has the same quality to it. At certain angles the black FQHH looks like the dye has absorbed into...
Absolutely, it's Aberdeen lightweight tartan with wine cotton sateen in the sleeves. It feels amazing - like a second skin.
I would not suggest a heavier tartan or cotton drill in sleeves on Vincenza - the leather is so supple you wouldn't want a heavy lining interfering with the feel of the...
Yeah, that Thurston label is only for Vicenza (I wanted in my FQHH and Carrie explained). I did have them sew the regular Aero label into the right inner vertical pocket since I went with the Buco at the neck. Can't have too many labels (when they are this good looking)!
Size 38, but it's definitely larger than the 38 fit jacket I received. I'm not sure about slimmer versions for Insurrection - I believe they helped develop the "premier" lines, which are slimmer, but I think the Board & Cafe Racers are the slimmest fitting jackets from Aero. I love that Buco...
Yes, it is. Dark seal. In certain light it looks chocolatey brown and then in other, it looks cooler. The jacket on floor pics show grain and shine much better than the fit pics. It's beautiful leather, I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Hi Carrie & Wade,
I've been meaning to post since last week when my Board Racer arrived and got tied up.
I don't even know what to say - I need time to process how something so perfect and so glorious could come in a cardboard box. Seriously, this jacket is f***ing spectacular! (but you guys...
Thanks for the kind words! I totally agree, it's sick. I love my Premier HWM but this thing is another universe entirely! I'm so glad I have them both... ;)
Hey guys,
It’s been awhile and I thought I’d wrap up my loose ends and post pics of my new Aero Board Racer. I ordered from Carrie & Wade (Thurston Bros.) at the beginning of August and it arrived last week.
I posted pics of the fit jacket on another thread and really liked the rock and roll...
I agree with everyone, it looks great. Keep rolling/crumpling/massaging those sleeves and they will soften up. I'm breaking in a new HWM right now and am very pleased with how quickly the stiffness is relaxing (summer heat helps a lot :)). Mine was so stiff I could barely move my arms enough to...
NYC has changed dramatically in the past 11 years. I work in the Chelsea/Meatpacking District and it's truly shocking what it's become. The tourists are pretty out to lunch (walking 5 people wide on the sidewalks) and as mentioned above, the bicyclists are total idiots. But that being said, the...
Every single one looks fantastic!
@Fanch, it's true in the end these are trivial details, but they sure dominate a mind when you have to make a damned decision! :(
It will be fun to see how it all comes together...
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement! I really appreciate everybody's input, but I'm really picky and feel 99% confident in the choices.
Fanch did bring up something that I decided too quickly and regret - I wish I had specified 1.25" inch zipper start from hem. I'm new at this and was...
I know! It's a little nerve-wracking wondering where the variations will appear. If anything I hope it errs on the side of .25" larger than smaller. Fingers crossed...
