    @cajunfries if you use a broad enough definition of waxed flesh then yes. For me it's rather waxed roughout. You can't make waxed flesh from suede. Just my opinion though.

    Maybe I make to much of a distinction between conditioner and polish, but.. I understand cleaning them up and conditioning them to keep them healthy and lasting long. Maybe coating them with something extra to keep the elements from damaging them. But why polish a work boot?

    @Batoidea summed it up nicely. For me this "trend" really represents long term health vs short term comfort/aesthetics, but the most important thing by far is the wide/anatomical toe box.

    The leather on the Pacific in that picture is Rancho / Ranchero HH. Chrome tanned, semi-aniline. I really doubt they will deal with CXL. The +200 pound markup for the current CXL steerhide is there because they don't want to deal with it anymore I understand.
