A Himel Canuck. I've wanted one for ages, but I can't justify the price because I know that I would feel disappointed to have spent that much money on a piece of clothing.
Unless a jacket is a couple of sizes too big or too small (and maybe not even then), fit is a personal preference. While it's true that a US physique in the US during the 30s was smaller and clothing was worn differently, it's also unlikely that people felt as caught up on fit then.
I found...
I really like Himel's Canuck, but I don't want to pay those prices - I don't know what effect tighter stitching has (beyond the aesthetic), and I doubt that the advantages of the manufacturing process in whatever dimension, be it fit, durability, etc. (if I could tell) would - or could - be...
Yes - I do a lot of cooking and it is much cheaper to buy in bulk, so I have non-perishable food in large quantities. Chinese people often want - and insist on - things being entirely fresh, but it is hard to store green vegetables without blanching them (and even then they take up space). I...
It helps. It really does. I think end of May before things are back to normal. There must have been some movement from the apartment complex: 'Give that laowai beer!'
It isn't enough beer, but times are hard, etc. :)
I like the pockets on the Cafe Racer I have and use them all the time. So far (in three years of use - might be too early to tell) they haven't puffed out or spoiled the line. On the other hand, period-accuracy is something that I don't take into consideration. I rarely use front jeans...
5th (6th?) week of indoor lockdown - at least the jackets are getting some indoor/balcony wear...
Local govt-issue covid tests come in their own lil' biohazard bag (sort of off-putting...).
The (Mariner) Vicenza's really grown on me - it's 'warmer' like goat, but has a dry hand - it's just begun to show a lighter base colour in areas of wear. If I wore it non-stop (tricky now that summer's coming), I think it would develop some nice gradations in colour. The cordovan always seems...
Y
yeah, it's not great, but I thought it would happen, so I stockpiled non-perishable food and deep-froze a lot (A LOT) of meat. I have also online-taught my whole building how to blanch and freeze vegetables (not many people here ever cook) and I can also work from home, but...
...I should...
Lockdown extended for ten more days. I have easily enough basic food, clean water and seasonings, but I had not accurately laid in the amount of Italian red wine, bracing scotch or cold beer I would need in this eventuality.
Nothing for it but to sit around drinking strong coffee and listening...
I am throwing myself on my sword, right now. My Highwayman showed bloom after 7 years... :). The Vicenza after a particularly heavy rain this winter. Both instances solved by wiping down with cloth. I don't think it persisted.
The mark's probably bloom. It probably isn't mould. A damp cloth will sort it, but it might take three or four 'passes' - wipe it down, and keep doing so. I've had this happen on CXL, Vicenza and Steerhide jackets; it isn't quality-related and is not a defect. Japanese workmanship is usually...
