Notions about fit
Unless a jacket is a couple of sizes too big or too small (and maybe not even then), fit is a personal preference. While it's true that a US physique in the US during the 30s was smaller and clothing was worn differently, it's also unlikely that people felt as caught up on fit then. I found...- zebedee

Aero Board racer, hand warmer pockets or not?
I like the pockets on the Cafe Racer I have and use them all the time. So far (in three years of use - might be too early to tell) they haven't puffed out or spoiled the line. On the other hand, period-accuracy is something that I don't take into consideration. I rarely use front jeans...- zebedee

The (Mariner) Vicenza's really grown on me - it's 'warmer' like goat, but has a dry hand - it's just begun to show a lighter base colour in areas of wear. I am throwing myself on my sword, right now. My Highwayman showed bloom after 7 years... :). The Vicenza after a particularly heavy rain this winter. Both instances solved by wiping down with cloth. I don't think it persisted.- zebedee

The mark's probably bloom. It probably isn't mould. A damp cloth will sort it, but it might take three or four 'passes' - wipe it down, and keep doing so. I've had this happen on CXL, Vicenza and Steerhide jackets; it isn't quality-related and is not a defect. Japanese workmanship is usually...- zebedee
