Ha ha, yep wait until it arrives. I’m second guessing myself on a pattern issue of mine. Wanted both these top pockets to be a bit more bold, and the zip pocket outlined on chalk to be longer. We’ll see.
Interestingly, I didn't know there was a choice either, but I went to the features and customization link on their website to show Shawn the colour thread I wanted and he said "thats 6 ply, not 3 ply", so I went for 6 ply. Learning as I go.
Anyone specify 6 ply thread when creating your 5* custom?
Shawn gave me the choice between 3 and 6 ply and I chose 6 ply because I want my contrast stitching to really stand out.
Wondering if anyone else has.
Interesting. I had thought about offering to pay, but the cost of my jacket is higher than others are paying already, due to the design and button holes I presume.
I sent a diagram illustrating adding 1/2" to the collar tip. It's quite straight forward.
To be fair, I made a few changes earlier in the process, leading up to pattern construction. Might be where his frustration is, but we're way past that now. I approved the entire pattern except for...
I've sent him an apology for creating extra work, we'll see if sympathy has the desired effect. If it doesn't I'll try the hard line approach. Much easier to change it now, rather risk if its built and I just don't like it, request for the collar to be swapped out.
It probably comes down to...
I don't know, I just said @#$% it, get it over with man. It's the only change I requested since he sent the pattern to me and he made a big deal out of it. I'm not a patient man so probably not the best to handle this. Hopefully the final product is good.
My wife was an amateur seamstress and...
I spent my career in the heavy equipment business, working for a Cat dealer in Western Canada. Here’s a pic of me calling on a logger in the early 80’s sporting my Lee jacket. This jacket was bought probably 77 or 78.
Any idea what model it is? Wish I still had it. I was a Lee man back then...
He wasn't keen about my request to add any size to the collar. Said he would have to redo the pattern which would delay the project. They can't cut the leather without the pattern. My purpose in requesting to see the pattern before construction in the first place was to dial in any changes...
I really like the Maxwell collar but for this jacket I think that Thedi collar makes more sense.
Shawn must be fed up with me now, but I’ve told him this is my last requested change. Hopefully he can make a minor adjustment without redoing the pattern.
Thanks for the feedback!
