Well, seeing as the brim was almost entirely flat, snapping the front down just looked stupid on me. The way I have it currently is the only way I could make it look halfways ok. The brim really needs a deeper flanging in my opinion but, since I don't own one I can't do that....
Thanks! It took some patience and about an hour and a half of steaming and shaping. I would like to possibly put a pencil curl to the edge but, since I've never attempted it, I'm not so sure...
So, I got my Stetsonian this last Saturday; I haven't had the chance to post pics yet. Personally, I'm very satisfied with the quality of the hat; very soft, supple felt. The liner is very nice, as is the sweatband; and a perfect fit.
Happy Friday!
Wow, there are some truly awesome hats worn today; everyone looks outstanding!
For me today I wore my Mallory Nokabout, nothing fancy but, it's so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it sometimes.
That's probably what I will end up attempting; I was just hoping that perhaps one of the custom hatters might have been able to make this type of repair as the needle doesn't go all the way through the felt when it's sewn, just through a portion of it and comes back out through the leather; and...
Hello, I'm looking for a brim flange for hat size 7 1/4. If you have one you're wanting to get rid of or have no use for please pm me with a picture and the asking price.
Thank you

Hey! I thought I was the only one that had even seen that movie! Indiana Jones may have started me on the path to hat-wearing when I was a kid but, it was Last Man Standing that got me into it as an adult.
Just stumbled across this one on ebay, I would really, really, like to get it myself if it weren't so expensive. Oh well, maybe someone here has the cash and use for it...
I just got this one of Ebay earlier this week; the felt is very supple and soft. The only issues with it are that the ribbon is a bit wrinkled in a couple of places and about a three inch section of the sweatband is coming unstitched. Other than that it's a great hat and fits like a glove...
Sweatband repair
Hello all,
I have managed to get myself a couple of older hats that also happen to have unreeded sweatbands in them. I really seem to like the unreeded sweatband better than the reeded kind as I feel it conforms to the shape of my head better and provides a more comfortable...
Congrats Alan, looks like a very nice hat! I had that one on my watch-list for my dad as it's too small for me. Had it been my size I would have gone for it myself. :)
I just saw this one yesterday and, after much debating with myself over whether or not I need any more hats, I went for it...
I strolled into the video store one evening last week wearing one of my black homburgs and, when I got to the counter to check-out, the girl behind the counter commented saying, "You always wear such cool hats!". Apparently I have been noticed before.
Kind of made my day.
Bowlerman - That hat is fantastic! I love the colour combination there.
I seem to have developed a thing for homburgs recently; I just picked up a pair of identical twins last weekend at one of the local vintage shops. I think they're probably from the 40's as the crown is lined with oil silk...
