Hey fellow loungers…
I’ve an odd question - how easy/possible is it to reduce the size of a leather jacket?
I’ve posted on here before about having lost a lot of weight in the last 8 months. I’ve gone from, in real terms, a size 48 to somewhere between a 42 and 44 depending on the maker. In...
I’m glad someone else bought this… I was just about to do something that would likely lead to me getting an earful from my other half for buying yet another jacket!
Sellers remorse is a killer… but it’ll free up wardrobe space for something else in time for autumn no doubt…
I know I was posting on here a few months ago about my love (entirely based on online photos) of the Fine Creek Leon … thinking of it as an upgrade on my Vanson C2RN … it’s funny how wrong you can be.
I’m extremely grateful for folk on here pointing out the pattern length in particular - my...
So … eh … I may have underestimated my weight loss … as I seem to be closer to 36 inches in the waist now. I was wondering how/why the Delraiser fits well!
Guys - if you want to lose weight just have a new born and lose all the time you used to have to eat! I’ve shed about a decade of crappy...
Sorry - I rambled on without making the point.
My point is the OP has noted that it fits like a 42. I don’t fit into anything labelled 42 - I’m generally a 44 fit. If you’re a typical 42 (drop 6 - so a 36 inch waist) this will fit roomier I think … it’ll zip easily but it won’t be the close...
So Gily has posted above about owning one of these - in fact I bought his Delraiser. He went on to buy a J24L and it fit him perfectly (as did the Delraiser).
If you’re in the market for the original fit J24 or the J24L … ( ie before they introduced the 2021 roomier fit J24 ) then you’ll fit...
I picked up one of these in the same size on FL earlier this year … and it’s become my daily driver since then. The OP is right - it’s a very slim 44 … wide shoulders and fairly narrow waste - a very V fit.
But … what a jacket! I’ve been stopped by random strangers who wanted to know where I...
Yeah - I’ve seen the cut off versions (not a fan) - but I believe the rivet and hide 2mm custom also comes with no belt/epaulettes rather than cut offs (The Shop in Vancouver also carry a few that come without rather than cut).
I guess my ideal end state is my Vanson cut a little more trim in...
Yeah … that was my worry (re: length). The Vanson that I love hits my belt line perfectly at 26.5 inches - it’s ideal.
For reference in 5’10, but long in the torso … my inside leg is 31 inches so the length can be tricky without a jacket that’s perfect for my body length making me look odd as...
Hey TFL…
I’m looking for some long distance fur advice (as I’ll likely have to order online as there are no stockists of Fine Creek here in Ireland)…
I recently picked up a Flat Head Delraiser D pocket cross zip together with a Vanson C2RN (aka renegade). I’m starting to think the Vanson...
Gil - here’s the sizing chart from TRM in the UK - from buying from them their charts are always 100% right;

You’ll be fine from the look of it.
So I still haven’t had a chance to take fit pics - but I’ve been wearing the hell out of this jacket. And it’s quickly replaced everything else in the rotation.
Mostly though it’s replaced the Delraiser, which came as a complete surprise to me. I loved the Delraiser design from afar - the lack...
I was really dithering on it for a while - I’d honestly prefer a bi-swing or action back and comp weight leather … but it’s a great jacket and I’m glad I pulled the trigger.
Until recently I haven’t been the right body shape for any of the Japanese makers - and while that’s changed and I now...
Also … thanks to TFL for really doing a great job of overcoming Vanson’s awful website! I’ll be honest … I wouldn’t have bought this direct from Vanson based on their website photos - Butterscotch did a much better job of photographing it and made the C2RN look a lot more like how it is in...
I picked up one of the Butterscotch models … to be honest I’d missed that Vanson had the same model for 200 bucks less on their site (damn their website pictures are awful!).
I’m not 100% sure that the fit is the same for both the Butterscotch C2RN and the Vanson model. Based off Vanson’s...
Sorry - my point being that when you consider that you can order the pattern of your choice to best fit your sausage body… in the leather of your choice (well - provided you like either CXL or their veg tanned!) and if you’re honest in your measurements you’ll get a jacket that fits pretty well...
I think it’s not a direct comparison to consider suits and leather jackets, but I get the argument nonetheless.
The Delraiser that I recently picked up here fits me fairly well - I knew it was going to be a little tight on the waist as that’s the V shaped pattern that The Flat Head uses - and...
So I’ve had a few Aeros, and recently got my hands on my first Flat Head (Delraiser). I’ve also owned a Fine Creek briefly a few years back. So I’m not judging Aero purely as an owner of nothing else if you know what I mean.
I came to Aero via Belstaff. My first proper leather jacket, bought...
