Today's choice is my Selentino Queen in Olive Green. The proportions of this hat and the thin ribbon appears to me to be their version of a Stratoliner. All in all a pretty nice hat in my opinion.
Champ Lafayette in Charcoal Gray got the nod this morning. I especially like that it still has the original price tag of $ 8.50. While not the fanciest hat in my collection, and the back bow isn't my favorite...I'm trying to have a nice variety from different hatmakers.
This morning I chose another of my lesser heard from hat brands ...a Golden Brent with down finish in a Black Walnut color. This hat seems well put together and the felt molds easily by hand. All in all I'm happy with my $35.00 Ebay bargain !
I believe you are correct. Brent DeNatly said the same thing. The liner is sewn in but that doesn't mean a thing. Liner also says Supreme Quality where the sweatband is stamped Excellent Quality with the Mallory logo.
This morning my Melton "Art In Hats" caught my eye so I tossed it on before I headed out for a few errands on this Friday morning. Don't see a lot about this hatmaker despite them being around since 1934. Seems like a pretty solid hat to me.
This one just arrived in the mail this morning so it's gonna have my attention for a few days. Mallory Supreme Quality Custom Made in a Gray/Green hue, depending on how the light hits it. The felt does not disappoint as I can mold it like clay. I am curious about the "Custom made" moniker & hope...
This morning my Knox Twenty got the nod. Still a novice about these old hats but it seems to me these folks knew how to build a top notch hat. Mine has probably seen better days but I love it all the same.
I appreciate the information as I like to learn about these old hats. With that being said, this morning I decided to wear my Flight Sweep by Lee. I think the back bow treatment sets this one apart. The felt molds easily without steam and the hat appears to be well made in my eye.
Gray Marathon hat by JC Penney. I know I've got a lot to learn about old hats, but these seem pretty nice to me. I've got a couple of them in my collection.
Today's pick for me was my 4X Biltmore Silver Buckle made in Canada. I really like feel of the felt on this hat and it seems top notch quality to me. Looks like Biltmore's version of a Stratoliner to me.
Hope y'all have a good 'un !
