Aero perfection again! My new Board Racer arrives...

Looks excellent! What's the size? P.S. I suspect the jackets that Aero sells to Insurrection are of the slimmer Japanese specs, can anyone confirm this? And of course, you get the Buco tag as well.

What are the chances of me finding a stray Buco label..?

It may be a regional thing, RM may have the Buco name registered in Japan and some selected countries, but there always loopholes that other people can exploit. Aero only put Buco labels on their jackets sold to Thurston Bros, they certainly do not sell any Buco labelled jackets here in the UK...

What are the chances of me finding a stray Buco label..?

If it is a Lost World repro, can you actually contact Lost World to see if they can do a favour for you? If the jacket is indeed a Buco repro, sticking in another label sounds reasonable to me. It is just a matter or principle. If you are patient enough, some original labels taken from old...

    Engineer Boots Crisis!

I can see that many people are having this instep problem. I just wonder what sizes of boots you guys are wearing? Is it a particular problem for smaller sizes because the makers do not shrink down the instep/shaft proportionally? Placing a thicker heel pads helps, but it also causes your feet...

A-2 jacket that you can move in

It is just purely because of the A-2 design. If you want good movement without lifting, you may want to get something like an ANJ-3 jacket with the action back. Or, you can probably try to ask someone to make an A-2 with lambskin, which is a lot thinner and softer than the normal hides used.

    Engineer Boots Crisis!

Yes, I think I have mentioned in some other posts that the increasing likelihood of being charged for VAT & Custom here in the UK. I think it started right after Cameron took charge for his 2nd term (although short), the HMRC started to implement a digitised barcode scanning system for overseas...

Is there a line and, if so, how/where do you draw it?

Yes, in a way, that is part of the shopping psychology. Similar to why people are willing to buy watches which cost 10 times more than your most expensive jackets. There are several contributing factors here, desiredness, cost effectiveness, resale values. Cars, for instance, have little resale...

Is there a line and, if so, how/where do you draw it?

Sounds like we can write a PhD thesis in personal financing here! Addiction is the word here. Spending is an addiction, some people are dealing with it better than the others. And all the companies and media are all trying to tempt you into addictions, it is also made easier with all the credit...

    Engineer Boots Crisis!

OK, just received my SJC boots. I now understand what Jkohl meant by too large yet too small. The boots themselves are looking good, the leather used is pretty uniform and matched through out (in my case, black), not very stiff as I first imagined. The fitting problem seems to be that the lower...

    MA-1 Flight jacket

This looks interesting but it looks like the commercial copy than an issued jacket. I am not sure about a few things seen here in the picture, one is that the liner is not orange? Maybe if it is for ground crew? Secondly, why is the tag not in the pocket like in many of the late versions?

    MA-1 Flight jacket

I bought a few L-2B/MA-1 jackets a few years back when they were relative inexpensive. It is much harder to come by these days as even a simple 70s' L-2B can set you back for over a 100bucks (US). If someone want a brand new top of the range MA-1 replica, I guess this is one to go for right...

    Engineer Boots Crisis!

Ok, I am waiting for my pair to be delivered from Simon. Let's see what happens. I ordered 7.5, which is similar to most leather shoes that I own. Will keep you lads updated.

An India based business fakes it all!

The problem of Ebay (and some other sites) is that they do no really care unless somebody complains. In order to protect your own copyright or IP, you need to be proactive. That is why big companies have large IP/Legal depts to actively search for possible infringements.

    Repro USN Shearling Jackets

If you search around in the Outerwear section, there are some historical threads about both the M444a and M445a repro jackets. For a quick reference, Toy McCoys Japan is probably one of the few (maybe the only one at the moment) which produces M444 jacket...

    Alpha MA-1 Stench Ohhh My!

Plenty of sunlight inside and out. But it will still be tough to rid the smell soaked deep inside the linings. If it really unbearable, dry cleaning may be a way to go as the last resort. Fabreeze only last for one or two days, then the small will certainly come back, and you probably don't want...

Has anyone ordered a jacket from Japan?

I have tried ordering things from Rakuten Japan, it hugely depends on the seller/shop. It can be very straight forward or it can be a pain in the neck. But in a way, if it doesn't work, you will get s full refund. Make sure you are looking at an item which is sold by somebody who is willing to...

    Gustin L2 Jacket

I doubt that leather biker jackets will go away any time soon. I have been shopping with my other half and you still see ladies' biker jackets in every single boutique. Although, the style may vary. Last year, it was all about shearing, men or women, I am not sure how it is going to look this...
