FS: Alden Indy 403 sz. 10.5D very lightly worn

Hi all, for sale is my pair of Alden Indy 403 (Brown CXL) in size 10.5D; there’s nothing wrong with these I just need 10E (my Brannock size). These were lightly worn around the house by the previous owner and myself, they’ve never left the house. Includes the original box and dust bags. Asking...

Workboots, how should they be worn?

Theoretically engineer boots with pants worn over them would be a good option for firemen and engineers to wear because then coals wouldn’t be able to get into their boots. The taller heel would be a liability on the ladder they climb to get into and out of the car though. That said, I’ve just...

Workboots, how should they be worn?

To wit, I have never seen a period photo of a train engineer wearing engineer boots. Instead, here’s the Sears 1938 fall catalog, when Sears introduced the field boot with adjustable strap below: Then in fall 1939 they marketed it as an engineers’ boot for the field, perfect for engineers...

Some infos about California Sportwear Co.

Has anybody else posted anything about the history of California Sportswear? I searched the lounge but didn’t see anything. Here’s what a quick google search brought up: a photo from the USC Library listed as “California Sportswear Co., May Company, 1931”. You can clearly see the...

    The New Aero Blizzard

Built-in “vestees” were common in 1930s catalogs but they weren’t usually full-on waistcoats, more like smaller panels; here’s Sears in 1936: And a patent from that same year for something similar: Anyway, I still need a good “barnstormer”, sad to see that Albert Richard one that just...

How tight should a leather jacket fit?

If you can’t comfortably zip it up then it’s too small, but I know for years people liked their leather jackets (and denim jackets) Ramones-style; that is, about 3 sizes too small lol

Got my BK Heracles in black Liberty horsehide in and took some pics: -I had custom taffeta a d damask woven tags done up for this one as it’s a sample in case I want to do a run of them. -Changed the cuff adjuster to the early, rounded style -Switched out the waist adjuster buckle for a...

Was Roughwear The Original Manufacturer Of The Iconic Hercules Jacket?

Definitely, I’m not a fan of things fitting slim, I’d much rather have a “powerful” silhouette than anything slim or sleek.

Considering how well Jake’s fits him I’d have to disagree there, most repros just don’t get the proportions right.

    Rainbow Country Single Rider

Well unless they’re shipping it to the Moon I don’t think EMS on a folded jacket should be that much, wonder what’s about.

Mushmans helped to replace a main zip on my RC years ago for an OK price, do they still offer that service?

Was Roughwear The Original Manufacturer Of The Iconic Hercules Jacket?

I’m guessing it’s the extra length in the body; the bottom end is pushing against the upper thighs which in turn is pushing the zipper back up. Any kind of bottom panel or patch pockets also tends to accentuate the gut region too :D

The Liberty, that’s what I got, you’re right the Victory was much waxier looking.

Oh right the pockets; the 38-39 models had more vertical ones, maybe I’ll change to that!
