    Post New Hats Here!

Great buy, Randall! It looks more like a Boater than a Fedora as it's described in the eBay add. Though the brim seems to be not so stiff as a Boater's. Love the liner logo. Though it states that the Molinari brothers were hatmakers, I'm thinking it was perhaps more a hat shop. Age? 30s to...

" The Great British Hat Makers "

Thanks, Stefan. I've never seen a Johnson & Co hat before and have often wondered why Herbert Johnson claimed to be established in 1790. This must be the answer. Now, the next question to find the answer to is, what connection has Herbert Johnson to Johnson & Co? Grandfather, perhaps?

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I can't imagine why it took so long, David. You both look great under those brim up hats.

" The Great British Hat Makers "

Thanks, Panos. The underbrim is definitely not felt. It has the ubiquitous underbrim material. I'm doubtful as to whether or not the hat itself is beaver skin. What makes me believe it so is the feel of the material. If it isn't beaver skin, it is definitely one of the best quality silk...

    Toppers Unite

Newly acquired Johnson & Co Hatters Top Hat. 15.5cm crown, 5cm brim to the curl. Probably the missing link as to why Herbert Johnson claim to be established in 1790. Here's a link to more on this one in The Great British Hat Makers thread...

" The Great British Hat Makers "

Johnson & Co Hatters Top Hat. Crown height 15.5cm, brim 5cm. I believe this company must be the one Herbert Johnson claim to be the heir of. When looking at the history of Herbert Johnson, it is mentioned that he was apprenticed to Lincoln Bennett in 1872, and started his own hattery in...

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

I agree with, Stefan. I do own a couple of modern Borsalinos. One of them I bought new in 2016. I'm glad I bought it, but quality wise, my vintage Borsalinos are much better. Price wise, I could have bought 3-4 better quality vintage Borsalinos. Emotionally, I'd be sad to see Borsalino go...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Wormser sure knew how to make a classic looking Fedora, Jim. Great complimentary brim binding, ribbon and bow treatment. The wind cord is the icing on the cake. Looks really good in front of one of my favourite buildings in between those lampposts I love
