You can expect a Thedi to be around USD 1.500, depending on model. If you’re based in the US, you can have a look at the Thurston Bros. webpage. They should be one of the largest stockists of Thedi that side of the pond.
This is one of his bestselling models. The hide is water buffalo, finished...
Thanks. Yeah, high rise jeans is not for me.
I would prefer an extra inch, but I can live with it. It’s more or less the same length as my Y2 (which is a totally different patter, and the dramatic taper in the TMC enhances the shortness, IMO.
Good point about the back drop. Haven’t checked...
i don’t know about annoying. I guess it’s a question of expectations.
With my „unfinished“ hides, I am open to constant evolution due to exposure. Similarly, with veg-tan hides, I do expect the leather to soak up water as opposed to repelling it.
Thedi makes one great jacket for sure. He...
I see... Yes, I have had similar spots on my unfinished stuff.
I don´t think it will ever really affect the integrity of the hide. As to visuals: if it bothers you, you can wipe down the entire jacket with a damp cloth. The whole leather will darken until dry and then develop a more even...
TMC "Code 33 Durable" repro. The "Johnny" jacket...
Thanks to @Mr.Leong and @soundwavvves for the inspiration and the later for helping out with my questions!
This is a size 44, and I suppose I could easily get away with one size up too. Chest, shoulders, sleeves are all fine, and I can zip it...
Do. You have a picture of the jacket/water stains?
Also, do you know how DH calls the hide used in your jacket?
Most leathers use some kind of wax, oil or other finishing to prevent the leather from being to absorbant to elements such as water, sun, dirt etc. Thus, I am surprised that some...
Oh, ok, I wasn’t aware.
I have to say, their customer support isn’t worth their price tag. I ordered online three times, and only one was hassle-free. I much prefer their physical location in Frankfurt. A very nice, well curated place and nice folks.
Anyway, if you find anything you fancy, I...
I bought it from a place called „Manufactum“.

They pride themselves in offering „the good things“. The collection is worth some browsing, but it’s more fun, visiting their physical stores.
Kreis Belt. 8mm, and gently skivved at the buckle.
Wouldn’t necessarily wear with a fashion jeans, as thin, drapey cloth just hangs off it like a curtain.
Anything above 11oz or so is perfectly fine. Not uncomfortable too.
Ok, so there still ARE issues with the site. However, for some of us, all is fine. Not their fault, so I don´t quite get the agressiveness towards them.
I believe, an analytical appraoch would be to get together data to narrow down the problem. I am sure, there are IT-savvy people who can help...
I have said it at least twice before. Apologies for that, but it appear that this point triggers all my bad emotions:
Selling an expensive leather jacket with a hide that will outlast the wearer and combining it with a zipper that is BOUND to fail sooner or later (sooner in many cases...)...
Yes, this is my experience too.
Technically, if somebody handles an import on my behalf and requests fees, I’d like to be asked first.
All in all, I’d like to get my orders as quickly as possible, so I don’t mind the FedEx way. Just get me my stuff, and we’ll handle the paperwork later. ;)
You may be able to dispute the fee but certainly not the duties themselves. These are state-imposed with FedEx merely collecting them.
As for the fees; I guess FedEx was correct in assuming you would want them to handle the import?!
Over here, before the big courier firms started to make money...
Your right, of course. In theory. The remedy would be damages, e.g. for the additional cost incurred in having somebody else replace the zipper, I guess. In theory.
Now, we all know what kind of business Greg runs. And what kind of guy he is. Unlike another small maker he never acted like a...
Dug out my old Lightning. Was thinking about sizing up, so it didn’t get much wear lately. With the recent price surge, I can’t be bothered to buy new, so this will be a T-Shirt jacket.
Still my favourite Cross-Zip bar none, and even the standard horsehide on this is very beautiful (old batch)...
