    Pass The Hat Please

Ok, I'm in if anyone wants this Knox Fox Hound. Some staining on the liner but felt is sound. Box too if you want it, size 7. Heathered long hair, mostly brown.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I refined the crease on my moonshine FEPSA build a bit, and added a bit of a brim roll at the front.

I've been to exactly one fancy restaurant that had a coat room and offered/insisted to take my hat. And sure, I don't usually eat at fine dining establishments, so maybe it is a reflection of me. But I don't get the sense that most people/anybody care(s). I've seen guys (ostensibly business...

IMHO no such thing as "proper hat etiquette" in 2021.

Not to get too high minded about it, but in some respects, good is relative to your hat needs. Akubra primarily makes working hats for the outback, they just also make dress felt hats. So good hat if you plan on wearing it in a lot of rain. Not a good hat if you want a high end hat (to be clear...

2015 Stetson Excellent Quality GREEN THIN RIBBON (Preview & Review)

Yes, I've long touted my excellent quality Fortune and Glory. Whatever they were doing with that felt was fantastic and I would put up with their ribbon work if they kept making hats that good.

    Hat making?? Learning Millinery..

Plot twist! I decided to sub it for my upcoming BSHW custom. I was originally considering a lighter color, then Bob said he had a black cherry western weight, which then became the front runner. Conversely more recently, I was also trying to get one of the lighter FEPSA beaver blend felts that...

If they can't source grosgrain they must not be trying very hard. Just saying.

    Hat making?? Learning Millinery..

Well here's something different....FEPSA beaver/mink 225gram western weight, don't know what the official name for the color is but I'd call it sand. Pretty stiff brim from the get go, a little less in the crown. Not sure what the breakdown between beaver/mink is, but figured I'd never afford...

The only places I can think of that are reasonably local to you would be Baron in LA or Wellma, who sometimes takes refurb work. There are a few more options if you are willing to pay for shipping back and forth.

Hornskov Hats - custom Danish hatter

I'm not inherently against pre-distressed hats. I get it. Some folks want that lived in look and don't have the patience to do it naturally. Fender certainly brings in money selling new 'relic' guitars. What I don't get though, is this trend of greasy/waxy looking hats. I've never seen any old...
