Thank you! Part of the issue with it zipped is that it got caught on my back pocket so I'll fix that next time and see if it looks better. I don't mind the overall fuller fit, though.

The stitching and repairs are sloppy, but the leather is so nice thay it doesn't look bad from a distance.
It has the wool under the outside of the collar, but no it does not have the inner neck rain guard...
I like the design of the jacket, especially the back. However, the pattern does look pretty awful. If Gen (the model in the photo) doesn't look good in it, then it's worrying.

If it fits you well in terms of both feel and look. In fact, a great pattern won't just look ok on you, it will flatter you. It will also feel like it's more roomy than it is.
Additionally, you can sometimes tell a good pattern by a jacket almost feeling like it fits even if it's the wrong...
It is not just design. It's how the jacket fits/the shape of the jacket. Yes, that does affect the silhouette and how it looks. It also affects how the jacket feels on a person. It goes beyond just the basic p2p, shoulder, back length, and sleeve measurements... FAR beyond.
