I was toying with that one too - it came down to a shoot out between that and the Wayfarer in the end - a decider for me was the pattern, as the Wilderness is close to Everyman block and I have the latter but its not the best fit for me, being a bit tight in the shoulders but loose in the waist...
Hi John
I was just wondering how you found the Aero zip given the real heft of this jacket? I heard on FL somewhere that now they offer a more meaty YKK alternative to the Talons they use by default, so was wondering if I should try to get that switched while it is in “exchange” before heading...
I also really like the Wayfarer and hope this experiment works - I have one in the cordovan CXL FQHH and there is enough room in the same size to fit the shearling in (with the rayon padded wool in the sleeves). I originally went with goat but my recent black badalassi Aero was just so nice I...
It does feel a little tight in the chest - I'm hoping that the shearling will lay a little flatter with use.
Lovely jacket! I have undertaken a similar experiment with the Long HB's cousin, the Wayfarer - soon to go into production as a custom order in black badalassi with dark brown...
Amen to that - I'm also glad I got most of my hard-living years out of the way before smartphones came on the scene - otherwise I would have probably had to fake my own death and start over…more than once….! I thank my lucky stars I was not born a generation later, with all those daft antics...
My school also had weirdly eclectic rules on all sorts of things, but strangely if it was not actually written down that something was forbidden then it was pretty much tolerated (albeit through gritted teeth). We had to wear formal uniform until 16 - including the school tie etc in the...
Thanks! Its also a Lewis Leathers number - this is the plain double-pronged version, but they also do several fully tricked-out “rockers” belts with various studs and badges etc if you really wanted to turn it up to 11!
Ah - yes, I remember the Jermyn St treasure hunt so my first one must have been 2008 - I was also there the following year when it was in central London (Bedford Square?) - looking forward to catching up for the post-Plague 2022 Olympiad!
Splendid! I was there too - I have been to three of these over the years plus a New Year ball they laid on - cannot remember the other years, but one was on Hampstead Heath many moons ago. No gold cravat for me though - so congratulations for your momentous achievements, which rather puts...
Hi - I'm afraid I can't help you there as I have not seen an aged version in black - it has only just been adopted by Aero and I just rolled the dice with it - it seems to be pretty rare to see it in black for jackets (tobacco or russet seem the dominant colours), but other FL members may have...

Very nice! LL do an amazing job with the custom fits and that is a fantastic leather - my green sheep Super Phantom is my most comfortable jacket, but also one of the most snug fits - like a glove - I'm sure they will do a fantastic job for you too!
