What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Buying the Moores shows you have a good taste in hats, so no flaws there.

Furthermore, it's not a Lord's Hat. They didn't have a brim binding. However, it is a great Homburg from one of the finest Manchester hat makers. Congrats on the buy. I'd say it's from the 1960s.

No leather jacket, but it's a Dalton, and there's a lamppost with just a hint of the other one. Such a tease, Jim :)

Don't over do it, Nathan. Enjoy your break in Thailand. Fedoras can definitely go well with a leather jacket. I'm sure you have more than a couple that can. And with your good looks, you can definitely make them work together.

    Post New Hats Here!

I couldn't be more happier for you, Matt. I don't think that one would look any better or be more special with a fancy coloured ribbon. Looks great as is!

    Wonderful find, Matt.

    Post New Hats Here!

Again, congrats Matt on the find. Not often you see/find a Boater with a wind cord. So I'd say, all in all, with it's close to antique age, liner logo, Bon-Ton Ivy weave, wind cord, overall look and shape, it's a bit more than "nothing special" :)

    Boater faction!

Cool find, Matt. Love it. A great addition for you and this thread. Congrats!

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

I wouldn't call it "nothing very special", Matt. Any Boater that has survived so long is special to me, especially one with a Bon Ton Ivy sweatband weave. Congrats on the find. Looks great on you, my friend.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Lately, I've been thinking of getting a storage space. Perhaps I should. It would be like one of those safety deposit boxes you see in films where folks keep their jewels etc. in high security banks. Our jewels are slightly different, but jewels nonetheless :)

I wouldn't change that ribbon placement at all, Bro. Looks great on you BTW!

That's one nice looking tall crown G.A. Dunn & Co, Joe. Has some age to it, too.

Hope your move goes smooth, Nathan. No need to apologise for the "mess". My place looks something like that all the time. I think you definitely should keep the jacket. Nice contrast pairing it with the Mayser. The ribbon brings out the contrasting match.

Absolutely wonderful, Randall, both in and out. Great ribbon and bow treatment. I'm not sure it's misplaced. I think it was a style statement back then.

You're welcome, Rob. Definitely not a Biltmore. Could we see the whole hat?

Tonak post WWII Czechoslovakian well known hat company. Probably 1950s / early 60s hat. IsCo is Israel Cohen, the distributor of Tonak Hats in the USA back in the day.

Good to see you again, Dave. You sure know how to make that Fed IV work, not to mention the machinery :)

The photos straight out of the box in the Hornskov thread were fantastic, Simeon. The on the head shots just confirm what a superb Hornskov that is. Sure looks good on you. Congrats!
