31.5“ chest and pit to pit 18.75“ is a contradiction. Is the later of a jacket you own or how did you measure that? Also 19“ shoulders seem off too, that‘s what I get in my bigger jackets and I am 40“ chest, 165 lbs. First lesson here, imho, is maning sure you got your numbers right. Measuring...
Vanson Enfield size 40 and you are done. Vansons leather is made to last, the fit is very functional, you can find them used for as little as 300 USD on ebay. Enfield would be my choice of style for casual off the bike wear, a Model B would work well too i guess if you can live with the more...
You are right, car coat/long half belt territory is what I am looking for. A LW Downtown coat would be a neat find.
If someone offered a Suburban to me, I‘d take it all the same, even though it doesnt meet my criteria.

I am roughly a size 40 at 5‘10 170 lbs, looking for a LW or JL style preferably with:
26-30“ backlength,
22“...
In all honesty? No Aero at all. They are just not comfortable to wear, far better alternatives out there.
You could grab a Vanson Ike or Vanson Enfield for a casual center zip jacket, Vanson has their tough competition weight in black but if you prefer brown, they also have a selection of other...
This is the very batch of leather my Enfield is made of. After months of wear it looks fantastic with a grain very similar to old broken in jackets on ebay. That‘s a thing many people for some reason forget with Vanson. They expect new jacket to look the same as broken in ones but we all know...
I am sure you did before, but would you mind posting some more fit pictures? I am eyeing that grey version as well as the light brown one but unsure whether 38 or 40 and whether I should order with shorter sleeves.
Looking at these pictures, I‘d say the positioning is just fine, the top corner of the d-pocket is in very similar spot center south of the chest pockets (the position of which looks fine too). Dont get lost in details such as 0.5“ further left or right, the jacket is close enough.
