1940 Sportclad wool
Wild how large the reverse drop on this jacket is. I'm surprised by how many of my vintage jackets, including leather ones have this design.
Yeah that one looks like it almost could have come from the 70s if the leather were different. My 40s long half belt from sport clad also has a fairly 70s look to it as well.
It's the second half of the phrase "So long and thanks for all the fish" which is what the dolphins say when they leave earth before its destruction in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It basically means he's leaving snd being melodramatic about it.
Here are some pics of my late 40s-early 50s Buco J22 short model. It's a 20" Back on a size 40. Love how it fits me. Thanks again to @jeo For helping me look over it and discussing pricing eith the dealer. Couldn't be happier with this jacket.
I've been looking for a D pocket for a while and...
Yeah and especially after seeing a less rare, worse condition, later edition J22 that would be too long go for several hundred more on yahoo auctions, I feel even better about the price.
Wore the jacket today and felt like a million bucks in it. The only jackets ive felt this good in overall...
Had an amazing time at Inspirstion as usual. My wife and I hung out with @jeo a lot of the time just like last year which was awesome. Saw a bunch of great people like Himel, Ooe, Zip, Freenote, Stock Tank, etc. Also met David from Sons of Selvedge podcast who i know onlinez but hadnt met yet...
Thats probably my favorite piece of yours right now as well. It's weird in the best way possible. The orange and brown two tone is fantastic, the welted chest pockets, shape of the yoke, the fact that the collar contrasts with the yoke... all fantastic. Can't believe it was even longer...
This is how you know that he knows absolutely nothing about what he's talking about. He forgot that you also need a large back rise and thigh room as well.
That and he's a complete child who doesn't belong here.
I agree that a back view of the jacket on you would be helpful, but from the front, that really looks like a spot on fit. The jacket looks really nice. Love the tweed trousers too, btw.
