I tried the basic rig with a B Square mount and picked up an inexpensive BSA pistol scope to go on it. The surprise was how good a scope it was! When it eventually goes belly up, i will either put a Leupold or Nikon on it, but for right now the little BSA will stay on it...
Okay, the VdH soap can give a very good lather with a boar brush. BUT, if you start out too wet it ain't gonna work. So, shake most of the water out first then as you go if you need more, then dip the ends of the bristles in the water and add more. And the VdH likes very hot water.

My fedoras see daily use as work hats [crushables, Scotchguard, etc], so they are wider 2"+ brims to keep rain, etc off the glasses and me! I've also got a block shaped head and visage, so the wider brim looks appropriate.
