    Show us your Guns!

I tried the basic rig with a B Square mount and picked up an inexpensive BSA pistol scope to go on it. The surprise was how good a scope it was! When it eventually goes belly up, i will either put a Leupold or Nikon on it, but for right now the little BSA will stay on it...

Okay, the VdH soap can give a very good lather with a boar brush. BUT, if you start out too wet it ain't gonna work. So, shake most of the water out first then as you go if you need more, then dip the ends of the bristles in the water and add more. And the VdH likes very hot water.

    Gangsters of the Golden Era

Growing up in Chicago, then transplanting to Southern Illinois as an adult gave me an appetite for this lore. Check out the war in Southern Illinois between the Shelton and Berger Gangs, they built armored cars and even used homemade bombs thrown from airplanes!

A trick i use when traveling is to let the brush soak, then actually squirt the paste soap like Proraso into the end of the brush itself. I then face lather. Not the ideal method, but if you don't have a bowl handy, it works. Also, when traveling get an old prescription bottle and drill some...

When you adjust your razor, 1 is the gentlest and 9 is the most aggressive. Always open the razor before changing the adjustment.

    Anybody here used Cabela's hats?

An update on this thread. I went ahead and ordered one, for $35 I figured I couldn't go too wrong. It arrived a couple of days ago [very speedy shipping] looked it over. A nice hat for the money, good color and fit well. However, it just looked, well, meh as the kids say. When my wife got home...

Can Anyone Pull Off a Wide-brim Fedora?

My fedoras see daily use as work hats [crushables, Scotchguard, etc], so they are wider 2"+ brims to keep rain, etc off the glasses and me! I've also got a block shaped head and visage, so the wider brim looks appropriate.
