Rudie,
Beautiful jacket. I have the same Russet Goat in a 50's Half-Belt. Mine is a thicker (and a little stiffer) goatskin than other goat jackets that I own. When worn a little, the pebble grain will show even more. Congrats on a fine piece of leather!
I have a 50's Half-Belt in Russet Goat and it is awsome. It is a thick goatskin but not too heavy at all. The pebbled grain on the goatskin is really nice also. I have a cotton lining so I can wear it in three seasons, in winter I just layer a little. You're going to love the Russet Goat, it's...
If you are interested in the Irvin and B-3, I would also check out the B-6. It is a little less warm than the other two and has a Bi-Swing back for shoulder movement.
You might get more use out of it with the Fleece lining being a little thinner and it is a great looking jacket!
Thats what I did. I took the samples swatch from Aero and made a little Pull Tab - then sewed it, and then put a little glue on to seal it together. Worked out perfect. You just have to be careful when cutting the Tab out so it looks symetric!
I don't understand the worry about washing your denim jeans. I wear Levi's and when I buy a new pair, I wash them before I wear them. How much are you guys paying for these jeans that you have to be so careful anyway!!!
Goatskin Leather
I own a few goatskin jackets, and my Aero goatskin is definately the thickest of the bunch. It's the only goatskin jacket I ever had to break in a little. All the other ones are thinner, but softer. I don't ride a motorcycle but I think my Aero goat would do an adequate job...

Jacket looks great, Nice fit too. I feel your pain - I waited 2 years also, but now I'm just glad I received it instead of getting burned like so many guys did!
