Well the 2nd vest which I ordered from C&C Sutlery on November 1st is finally done and has just been shipped.
It's going to be in the 70's all this week and before I know it It'll be spring but it was in the 50's last week, so I may get to wear it at least a week before summer comes around if...
I have never actually seen these before, but SG had them for pretty cheap so I ordered one.
USGI 5 button sweater, 100% wool, MADE IN USA.
Probably by whoever makes the " Commando " sweaters.
I'd probably be wearing it over a henley or possibly over a flannel as well , I don't know what the fit is like though so I may be crazy for thinking I can wear it over 2 layers.
They also have a black " us municipal surplus " commando sweater for much less, but these are American made so I was happy to pay more.
Not that it's all that expensive.
Does anybody know if the USMC commando sweater is actually 100% wool ?
Obviously they have cotton reinforcements, but is the actual knit truly 100% wool ?
The sportsmans guide has them new for about $60 with the club discount so I ordered one, they list it as 100% wool but I'm not sure.
I just ordered a USMC wool " Commando sweater " from sportsmans guide.
I'm not normally into USMC issued gear, but these are iconic classics and are a pretty affordable piece of American wool.
They're listed as 100% wool which I'm not too sure about, but for $60 I'm not all that worried.
I'm quite partial to 2 bladed serpentine frames with square bolsters, whether it's a pen configuration like one of my 4 and counting Buck 305's or a Jack configuration like this modified Case 032 Texas Jack of mine that I'm carrying this week.
That picture isn't great and I'll have to get a better one tomorrow, but I'm really happy with that Sherpa lined Wranglers
I took a bit of a gamble on it because i was on my lunch break and wasn't 100% about the size, but it fits me pretty well.
Much much better than my modern flannel lined...
The mailman was nice enough to get my birthday present to me just as I was heading out to celebrate, so off came my JWM cruiser for the new vintage 1980's Wranglers trucker.
the local feed store probably has them, they have a. decent selection of clothing that i just never looked at
theres a boot barn in my general vicinity, but ive never been there because their prices are higher and i was told you dont get the box which doesnt sit right with me.
Texas Jean's seemed like a really good value at under $50, made in the USA but they don't make my size.
I'm not sure I wanna pay $115 for pants, I just don't take care of them and like you I'd rather put that money into boots and jackets.
Jeans to me seem to be a thing where it can be hard to...
Those pockets don't sound too great.
If I can't get into my pocket to retrieve my pocket knife small multitool pen or my pocket organizer easily then they're not going to work for me.
The high waist is another thing I like about Wranglers, my flannels stay tucked in much better with them.
A couple years ago I handled a pair of their original cowboy cuts that really impressed me but my size was out of stock and I just keep forgetting to order a pair.
I'm definately going to...
My experience with Levi's vs wranglers budget jeans
Setting aside my views on Levi's as a company today, I really just do not like their products.
I've had the cheapest $25 big box store Levi's, and I've had the " better "$60 department store...ect signature series I think they are, and they...
That's the biggest draw of vintage for me, I like American made things.
I just couldn't pass on this one, I love the style and those sorta hidden hand pockets are a feature I've always thought was cool.
The position is great too, as far as quality goes theres nothing inherently wrong with my...
