Newly bashed Popeye Doyle pork pie again today since the weather hasn't been too hot. I'm normally a "brim down" kind of guy, but this one seems to prefer having its brim up.
Yeah, it seems like all the Italian boaters are either made by Tesi or Ponte Rialto. They seem fairly identical. For all I know they might even be made in the same factory.
The Francato Cappello with the Popeye Doyle-inspired pinch pork pie bash made its debut today. Sorry about the bad pics, the lighting was poor. One deviation from Popeye's is that it has more of a pronounced telescope--I like having clearance on top of my head.
I just realized the...
I'm basically between a 7 5/8 and a 7 3/4 and a long oval, so I usually wear a 7 3/4. My Ponte Rialto Venice boater is a 7 5/8, though, and fits my head very well.
Somebody got a nice big Borsalino OR-style for a good price. I was watching it, but I got so busy with household chores today that I just plain forgot about it. Needs some reshaping and cleaning, but otherwise very nice.

Francato Cappello Royal Beaver, just got it in the mail today.
It originally looked like this (eBay photos):
Judging by the eBay photos, I took the brim width to be about 2 inches, which is my absolute minimum that I'll wear. It's 2 inches on the nose, but with the height of the brim it...
Yes, it's not too tight and it's not too loose. It fits perfectly. Oh, wait, you meant width, didn't you? ;) lol
Joking aside, I agree with Mr. P! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
I have a paperback copy of John Waters' Crackpot that I bought at a used bookstore for about $4. I flipped to the title page and there was a signature, "To [some dude], John Waters."
The novelist Stuart Woods was originally from Manchester, Georgia, and I grew up near there, so sometimes he...
I read that one a couple of months ago. It was quite a terrific book.
I just started Moby Dick. It seems kind of late to be reading it now, but it was never part of my required reading in school for some reason, and I found a nice leatherbound copy at an antique shop and figured "better...
