I disagree with you on the 30's HB being worn with just a shirt to look right, or designed for just a shirt. I have a Aero 30's HB, and an Alexander Arkansas (same as a 30's HB, maybe even a little snuggger) and I wear a sweater underneath in the colder weather and it looks good to me. I also...
I think I've seen some 30's HB from Insur./Thurst.?? that had no yoke in the back. I would not worry about the collar size, I thought they looked a little large when I saw them online, but when I finally saw one in the flesh, it was good. I would take Insur./Thurst. advise on mods - they will...
Both jackets look like a good fit, the collar on the Herc looks a little large (too long) but as far as what goes with your complexion, cloths-etc., I just go with what I like!
The sleeve length looks good to me, But body length needs to be at least another 1/2" to 1" longer. I think you could safely go down one size also. Take a road trip to Insurrection if you can and take up Carries offer!
You can get a breast pocket on this jacket if requested. I have the Wool/Leather Type II and it is essencially a Pioneer in wool, and I had the breast pocket put on it!
Very nice. Fit is perfect, and goatskin is very durable, and light-weight. You will probably get more wear out of that one than your other heavier weight jackets living in that Texas climate. Congrats!!
I'm 5'7" and I have an Aero 30's HB with a back length of 24" and the back sits just at the top of my back pockets. I think 24.5" would be a good back length for you. I also do prefer the drop front of this style jacket. Just call Insurrection/Thurston Bros. give them your stats and they will...
Just go with the inside pocket and if you're worried about it showing through, don't put the stud on. I think Fanch had one like that, and I think they are deep enough that there should be no problem with something falling out!
