Couldn't agree more about him rockin' that hat. Also Burt Lancaster. Maybe the reason is that these guys were genuinely tough guys. These 2, like so many of those actors of that time, were or seem to be of a different breed of men.
Thanks. I do like it - it seems W&W hats are very soft and I don't think many are lined so - for better or worse they are very 'adjustable" - if that's the right word. I happen to like a lot of what I see on the web and the new Cinque Terre looks interesting, but I would need to go to the NYC...
I just called Filson and I think you are right - they (or at least the person I spoke with) doesn't have much of a clue regarding this coat's status - the original one, not the lined limited edition. I have mine already - hello avatar, but I can't imagine them not continuing with the original...
MushroomMan,
You make some very good points and you wearing Filson clothing for utility, I can understand your frustration. Regarding that lined packer coat and sweat freezing, I guess the answer to that is a wool sweater over your shirt. But they are making a huge mistake if they are going to...

Michael,
Nice jacket, hat and pants - goes well together. Nothing like shearling to ensure warmth and comfort on cold days though I would imagine you have to be very careful about getting a light colored jacket free from stains.
Hello everyone,
Avirex 1986 A-2 but it seems a little oversized to me, i'd like your opinions on this kind of jacket, I've been looking a lot of vintage pictures of A-2 and besides the one from "Pearl Harbor" which look oversized as well, the rest looked a little tighter.
I usually wear...
