Funny story: When Operation Paperclip Scientists were re-stationed in Huntsville in the 1950s many became community leaders. At a School Board meeting somebody asked one of the Germans about his war service and he stated that "He was a veteran too!" because of his Luftwaffe Service. He was...
Hit the goodwill in town; it's been a goldmine of stuff. Passed on a few jackets but picked up a Towncraft suit, "Executive" branded and made by Hart, Shaffer, Marx in the late 1990s. $10!
The Salvation Army in town was good, but has lately been afflicted with what I call the "special...
Looks like the German Panzer Uniform. Which was designed from Alpine Skiing clothing of the period. Going from that, the design makes sense.
I REALLY love the Bob Hope cartoon though.
HOLY HOLY HOLY CRAP.
I just finished shopping the new Goodwill in town. No pictures yet, but let me express my excitement:
1 Pair of Allen-Edmonds "Maclean" brouges/gunboats. Retail: $549. My price: $3.00
1 Pair Bill's Khakis: $3.00
1 Hopsack Blue jacket, brand new, with tags, even...

Very heavy flannel wool...

Sorry for the late reply, but the end of the month has seen me with too much I need to pay and too little to play with. If you still have this wonderful jacket after everything has been paid mid-next month, I hopefully will be able to pull the trigger then.
Thank you very much for holding it...
Ugh. This kind of stuff makes me a little sick inside. There is one huge reason I hate Ebay and people solely out to make a buck: they will separate something purely for the money.
At the salvation army I saw an USAAF Officer's jacket: Hart, Shaffer, Marx branded. Had his "US" Lapel Insignia...
I use Pecards on everything. Helps to water proof and take care of all my boots, visors, jackets. Has really proven itself a great product as winter has hit here.
