    Favorite World Series moments

Some of us are disappointed with this latest outcome. Although I grew up in the NJ suburbs, within a 45 minute drive of Yankee stadium and my Dad took me to games during the Mickey Mantle era, I have been in Pennsylvania for over 25 years and the Phillies have won my devotion.

    The story of a pilot

I add my appreciation to the article, Spitfire. Lewis was certainly one of the Greatest Generation.

When does it become a costume?

One would usually dress for comfort and safety on a bicycle. Perhaps the young lady in the photo is only posing, not ready to ride. Her outfit is interesting, but the PETA people would be unhappy. I see no objection since the fur is probably many years old.

When does it become a costume?

There's alot of good, philosophical discussion here, which I appreciate. These days many people have absolutely no conception of appropriate dress for certain events. I have seen people at weddings and receptions in jeans and tee shirts next to couples like the one displayed earlier. As a...

Modern Emergency Response Gear: Using WWII Gear

As long as you don't get too close to intensive smoke conditions the canvas gear should be OK.

30 Ways to Die of Electrocution in 1931

Sadly, electrocutions still occur too frequently throughout the world. In Iraq alone over a dozen US soldiers and contractors have been electrocuted while in the shower, on separate occasions.

Joan Collins says British women have given up trying to look good.

Joan Collins is still a classy lady and simply speaks her mind about the total lack of common sense in today's fashion.

1965 US Coast Guard Academy Dress Coat / Pea Coat

The coat may only have been meant for midshipmen while at the academy, if they used the same uniform standards as West Point. All Army cadet uniforms are only for their academic years. New uniforms are issued when they graduate and become officers.

How did you find the lounge?

I was looking for info on authentic A2's and stumbled across the link. BTW, Paddy's descriptive explanation seems to show some flavor from Garrison Keilor of Prarie Home Companion's Guy Noir. Could there be a possible influence?
