Give the CD a try. You can lower the crown nearly as much as you like, have a look here:

I wasnt too sure myself, whther the Cd would suit me, it always appeared to be so big in the crown on the pics from other users.
But I didnt...
Well, we can be happy that we get anything else outside Baseball caps at all.
Now, if it were fashionable again to wear hats, imagine this scenario:
The kids and the fashion-lemmings start wearing newsboy caps and Fedoras, but, of course, most of them would wear them side- or backwards...
I couldnt pm you, so here it is:
The colour is called "Heritage Fawn" and as pictured the colour is quite accurate.
Here is another pic with different light:
The Leisure Time below is in "Regency Fawn". Very similar, but a bit more brown.
I got mine from www.aussiebushhats.com, but...
On the subject of common sense when looking at the regulations and at reality, one can still carry matches on a plane:

".... - One book of safety (non-strike anywhere) matches are permitted as carry-on items, ...."
Considering the fact, that the...
This is how my way too oversize size 62 CD from Hatsdirect reached me, as first shown in the "post your new hat"-thread:
For comparising purposes, here are some Akubra in a normal size 62 :
And thats how the CD turned out after some hardcore shrinking:
Prior to bashing it, the felt was...
It has already been shrunk to the point where I only have to put some pads in the sides and wear it for in!!!:)
I will post a pic of the done hat in the Campdraft thread.
I dont know about this one, but both my Akubra, a Banjo Paterson and a Leisure Time, responded very well to steam and manipulation by hand.

The Banjo Paterson is a very versatile hat in its "heritage fawn" and with a 70mm brim. I will use it for the outdoors and casual everyday wear. And it still has enough "style§ to wear with, say, a Blazer and tie.
The heritage fur takes much longer to conform to my head than the standard...

Four month shy of turning fifty I decided it was time to wear them:
Because of my skin,
because I always hated Baseball caps: you can forgive kids wearing them in the most ridicoulos ways, but older men...
Hello PanamaBob
On the subject of my Montecristi Quarto Fino, where you generously offered to pay for a re-block, I have achieved the right shape of the brim, with repeated ironing and a hat stretcher and heavy books and the kind help of some of the members here :)
Now it only needs to shrink...
