I know that real snakeskin will have raised scales as opposed to printed leather but what about lizard skin? The scales are so fine, should they still be raised to differentiate from printed?

When you said "Lucchese or the Big Three" (above) it sounds like Lucchese is in a class by itself. Are the Big Three Lama, Justin and Nocona?
I suspect they were all better boots in the past and mass produced now?

I know that, I had to talk Dave into repairing them as he had told me he wasn't doing new work. They should last me the rest of my life and then I'll pass them on if the uppers hold out.
