I made an inexpensive stretcher with two c-shaped pieces of plywood and a piece of threaded stock with nuts to expand it. Also cut a hole in two pieces of plywood to press the brim entirely flat so it could be reshaped, sized, and steamed. Will try to post pictures. Also found that a #80 foam...
With that style moustache I would think any vintage style taller crown Fedoras with a 2 1/2 brim or larger would look good...especially with the Hollywood sloped brim.
Looks good. They have been running "Highway Patrol" with Broderick Crawford on the Retro TV channel. Looks like the one he wore in the show in the late 50's.
Most of today's "fashion "is so ugly or casual that I can't stand it. People wearing shorts to the funeral home.,etc...give me a break. Guess that's why I like the 60's glasses, ties, and hats. A certain amount of style and class before that ugly 70's stuff.:)
Poor Curly of The Three Stooges when the baileff tells him in"Disorder in the Court",Take off your hat, raise your right hand, put your left hand here.!:)
Yes. They come in 55 mm and 51mm. Mine are the 51mm tortoise with transitions. My daughter said I looked like a serial killer.:) . You can buy them online or at places like Sunglass hut in the mall where I got mine. Come in black and brown frames also.I like the 60's ties and all, makes it all...

It looks very similar to a Stetson Ivy League I picked up for a dollar at a Salvation Army store in excellent condition. It has an 1 7/8 brim, same sweatband. Looks 60's, hope someone can help. Most comfortable hat I've ever worn.
Is there any place where you can order ribbons made for hats? The standard stuff in a sewing store doesn't have enough "stretch" to it to fit properly.
